      To wife ANN,
      To eld. son THOMAS, all lands that are his sd. mother's inheritance, with the land I have made in Nanticoke River, being pt. of tract Weston" given to me by the last will of Capt.
      Charles Rider; tract I bought from Wm. Hemsly, called Scotch Folley," lying on damn bet. my now dwelling house and Dr. Smith's; land upon the northwest fork of Nanticoke River, called "Addition To Pullout," adjoining to tract called "Fullam," by his grandfather Col. John Rider. In his lifetime, to him conveyed unto his bro. JAMES, and his hrs. and assigns forever, which is very modest (or moderate) matter for my sd. son THOMAS, to comply with if he duly considers the expense I have been at in England for his education, also.
      Tract called Scotch Follyard,' the buildings on Nanticoke, have been to me to the prejudice of my 2 young. child; therefore, If son THOMAS does not comply with the term above mentioned, then devise to sd. JAMES, son, the afsd. pt. of sd. tract called 'Weston,' as afsd. to me devised by the will of Capt. Charles Rider; the sd. tracts to sd. son JAMES; also the tract on northwest fork of Nanticoke River, whereon John Brown now lives, called "Orms Kirk.
      To dau. ANN, and hrs., in case son JAMES shall not comply with the sd. proviso, and the tract I purchased of widow Anderton and hrs.
      There are deeds of gift to each of my child., from their worthy grandfather, for slaves that he gave them.
      Wife ANN, and 3 child.: THOMAS, JAMES and ANN.
      Wife ANN, guardian. The last request of a dying friend, that Col. John Henry and Mr. James Edge will advise and assist my extx. in her troublesome office.
