      Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Shemwell, Sr of the county of Todd and State of Kentucky being sound in mind and knowing it is appointed for all men to die doth in the name of God constitute and make this my last will and testament revoking all others and proceed to dispose of my worldly goods in the following. First, I give to B.F. shemwell & Harriett M. Mitchell heirs of my son James Shemwell dec;d the sum of twenty five dollars each. I give unto my son samuel Shemwell one half of the tract of land on which I now reside. I give the remaining half of my land and all other property which I possess unto Samuel Shemwell, Wm. G. Shemwell, Sarah Christian the wife of Nicholas Christian, Nancy Holland the wife of Thomas Holland, Jane Christian the wife of Alexander M. Christian and the heirs of my son Thomas Shemwell, dec'd to be equally divided between them after my decrease. I hereby appoint Samuel Shemwell and William G. Shemwell executors of this my last will and testament In testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal this 19th day of April 1854. Witness James M. Shemwell - Andrew Harris Signed Samuel Shemwell.
