      I Thomas Randall Greenfield Adams, planter in consideration of 120 pounds 5 shillings sterling paid by James Gordon & Company, merchants in Glasgow have sold 4 slaves, to wit, William (10 years), Toney (8 years), Lucy (8 years) and Rachel (8 years); provided Thomas R. G. Adams shall on or before January 1 next well and truly pay unto James Gordon & company the aforesaid sum of money with legal interest then these presents shall be void. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this December 8, 1767, Thomas R. G. Adams in the presence of Francis Waring, John Morton and acknowledged before Francis Waring
