      THIS INDENTURE made the fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy six Between ALEXANDER HANSFORD of the Parish of Brunswick in County of King George and ANNE his Wife of one part and STEPHEN HANSFORD, Son of the said ALEXANDER, of the second part; And ELLENDER WENT, Daughter of JAMES WENT of said Parish and County of the third part, WHEREAS a Marriage is intended shortly to be had and solemnized between the said STEPHEN HANSFORD and the said ELLENDER WENT, Now This Indenture Witnesseth that ALEXANDER HANSFORD as well as in consideration of the natural love which he path for his said Son as in consideration of the intended Marriage doth by these presents give unto STEPHEN HANSFORD and his heirs the following tracts of land, viz, one tract of land lying in the said Parish and County containing Eighty acres which was conveyed to ALEXANDER HANSFORD by his Father. STEPHEN HANSFORD, and Wife by Deed recorded in the said County Court, Another tract of Land adjoining the former containing seventy acres purchased by ALEXANDER HANSFORD of MOTT DERMITT and Wife on which they live, and which they are to have the use of during their time; Also about sixty acres of land being a Neck or Strip of Land part of the tract of land the said ALEXANDER HANSFORD lives on and is separated from any other woodland belonging to ALEXANDER HANSFORD and adjoining JOHN JONES's Plantation on the East side and the land of Mr. ALEXANDER on the West, And all houses orchards and hereditaments to the same belonging. To have and to hold the tracts of land with the appurtenances unto STEPHEN HANSFORD and his heirs, Subject nevertheless to the use occupation and possession of said ELLENDER WENT during her natural life in case the intended Marriage should take effect and in case she should survive STEPHEN HANSFORD, her intended Husband, and ALEXANDER HANSFORD for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant and grant to and with STEPHEN HANSFORD and his heirs that immediately after the Marriage takes effect said STEPHEN his heirs &c shall quietly enter into possession of the premises without the hindrance or molestation of ALEXANDER HANSFORD or his heirs; And ALEXANDER HANSFORD for himself his heirs the land and premises in the manner above limited to STEPHEN HANSFORD and ELLENDER WENT from the claim and demand of every person shall warrant and for ever defend by these presents; In Witness whereof the said ALEXANDER HANSFORD and ANNE his Wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
