      Richmond County, VA, Will Book 7, 1767-1787, page 99 Will of Thomas Thornton of Lunenburg Parish, dated 31 October 1771 and probated 2 December 1771. I Thomas Thornton of the County of Richmond and Parish of Lunenburg being very sick and weak of body but of sound mind and memory thanks to the Almighty God do make this my Last Will & Testament... Item My will and desire is that my loving wife Rebecca Sisson have the use of all and singular of my Estate during her widowhood. If she should marry that then the said Estate so be equally divided amongst my said wife Rebecca Sisson Thornton and my two children Frances Sisson Thornton and Elizabeth Thornton hereby revoking all other wills by me heresofore made and I do hereby appoint my loving wife REbeccah Sisson Thornton and my friend Benjamin Bramham my whole and sole executors of this my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed Thomas Thorton. Witnesses Daniel Lawson, Ann Thornton and Rebeccah (her mark) Lawson.
