      IN the difference between Capt. Streeter, who married Mrs.
      Burbage, the relict of Capt. Thomas Burbage, It is ordered, That
      the plantation of the said Burbage att Nansemund be equally devided
      in quantity and quality ... and all other lands ... into thirds ...
      the said Streeter's wife is to chuse which halfe of the plantation
      att Nansemund and which thirds of the other land she pleaseth to
      enjoy; the same only for her life; And Wm. Burbage to take the

      Att a Court held for the County of Northumberland the 20th of Novem: 1651
      WM. CORNISH aged 26 yeares or thereabouts sworne & examined saith that this Depont. being desired by MRS, NEWMAN to goe to POINT COMFORT FORT with her to get a Cow & Calfe to the other side & meeting with Capt. THOMAS BURBAGE, the said Capt. said to MRS. NEWMAN that if she would let him hand the Cow to NANSAMUND & if she did live till she was landed that house at NANSAMUND he would deliver to the said MRS. NEWMAN a cow & calfe at his House at the STRAWBERRY BANKS and this Depont. saith that he hash heard that the Cow did live till she gott over the River; And further this Depont. saith not

      W. GOOKIN by vertue of a subpena was sumoned to declare the truth of a difference depending between ELIZABETH NEWMAN & Capt. THOMAS BURBAGE Defendt., he being aged 23 yeares or thereabouts, deposeth saith that Capt. BURBAGE being hunting for cattle upon OLD POINT COMFORT tooke a Cow with other cattle wch. sd. Cow did belong to ELIZABETH NEWMAN and she the said MRS, NEWMAN being there did deliver the said Cow, the sd, Capt. BURBAGE desired her that he might have the said Cow and have the same with other his owne cattle and if the cow did live to be there ( ) there was a Calfe belonging to the said Cow by the company and the said Capt BURBAGE with the rest of his Company promised MRS, NEWMAN to deliver over another Calfe for those which were killed ( ) & promised about October in 1646
