      In the Name of God Amen. I William Simpson of Brunswick Parish in the County of King George being in perfect sense and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.
      Item: I give to my daughter Elizabeth Whitcom one cow & calf.
      Item: I give to my son Samuel Simpson three head of cattle and all my wearing cloaths, one short gun, one young mare called the Black mares colt and five hundred pounds Crop Tobacco.
      Item: I give to my daughter Margaret Defton five hundred pounds Crop Tobacco and two young heifers, two barrells of corn and one bushell wheat.
      Item: I give to my son in law James Payton three head of cattle.
      Item: I give to my son in law Evan Payton three head of cat-
      Item: I give to my wife Dianna Simpson all my land during her life for the raising and bringing up my small children and after her decease to be sold at publick auction and the money to be equally divided betwixt my son Samuel Simpson and my daughter Margaret Daflin (sic) and my two sons in law James Payton and Evan Payton.
      Item: I give to my wife and the rest of my children Dianna, Sarah, Bershaba, William, Joshua, Esaw & Nancy all the rest of my estate not before mentioned to be equally divided amongst them at my wife's death.
      My will and desire is that there shall be no appraisement of my estate nor no security given for it.
      Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my loving wife Dianna Simpson Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this 18th day of May 1749.

      At a Court held for King George County on Fryday August the 4th 1749
      The Last Will and Testament of William Simpson, Deceased, was presented into Court by Dianna Simpson his Executrix who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of the witnesses there-to and admitted to record.
