      WILL OF LAZARUS CAMERON, ALBEMARLE COUNTY, 1749.
      "IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I Lazrous Damron of the parish of St. Ann's, county of Albemarle, being of perfect mind and memory, praise be to God, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner following: I most humbly bequeath my soul to God, its maker and redeemer and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter mentioned.
      I give and bequeath to my son Moses Dameron all my houses and all my land to him and his heirs forever, and in case of his death without lawfully begotten heirs, then I give and bequeath all my houses and all my lands mentioned above to my son John, to him and his heirs forever, and in case of his death without issue lawful] y begotten, then I give and bequeath all my houses and lands above mentioned to my daughter Judith Dameron to her and her heirs lawfully begotten forever, and in case of her death
      without issue, then I give and bequeath all the above houses and lands to my grandson Charles Thomas to him and his heirs forever.
      "Item: I give and bequeath to my son Moses Damron my boy John Ward during the remaining part of his apprenticeship and in case of his death I give and bequeath the residue of the said John Ward's time to my son, John Dameron.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Dameron my second best bed and furniture and money seales and also my boy English McCoy till the expiration of his apprenticeship.
      "Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Judith Dameron the bed and furniture I bought from Richard Hall, with her mother's box iron and heaters. I also give her one young mare and her increase.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Dameron my third best feather bed and furniture and a mare called Tebb and her increase.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my son George Damron one shilling sterling.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Winifred Thomas one shilling sterling.
      Item: My will and pleasure is that the residue of my estate herein mentioned be equally divided between my son John Damron and my two daughters Judith and Hannah Dameron.
      Item: I desire that neither of my daughters, Judith or Hannah, after their marriage, shall have anything to do upon my premises. Item: My desire and will is that my estate be not appraised.
      Item: I constitute and appoint my son John Dameron and my son-in-law John Thomas executors of this my last will and testament,
      In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of Sept. in the year of our Lord MDCCXLIX (1748).
