      mm note: the following note does not appear to be correct. there are several Absalom Kent's in Calvert County that he is probably related to. Anne's birth date of 1717 with kids born in 1751 and after is suspect. Allegheny County was Frederick County in 1765, Washington county in 1778 and Allegheny after that. Records could be anywhere. He was probably from Calvert born bef 1731 and moved to Fairfax County by 1751 in that part now Loudoun County, Va. The Perrin's lived in Fairfax Co. Va.
      ===
      Absalom Kent and his wife Anne (Nancy) and son Joseph came to America, in about 1751 settling first in Fairfax County, Virginia. Then in about 1763 moving to Old Town, Md. He is believed to have been killed by Indians about 1765.
      According to the notes of Mrs. Martha Forman Johnson, great-great granddaughter of Joseph and Anne Rankin Kent. That it is extremely probable that Joseph, Absalom and William Kent, were Brothers. But are not descendants of Richard Kent, although they may be related to him.
      It is believed that Anne was related to Sarah Perrin, although it is possible that they were not sisters.
      The search for definite information in regard to the elder Absalom's death, as well as incidents in connection with his life in Old Town, Maryland, has been greatly handicapped by the fact the records in Allegheny county do not go back of 1791, prior records having been destroyed by fire.
      According to Mrs. Martha Foreman Johnson, Anne (Nancy) was born in 1717 and not in 1707. "Nancy" is a diminutive of "Ann" Mr. Johnson information is coming from her notes as a great-great granddaughter of Joseph and Anne Rankin Kent

      mm note: circumstancial evidence, I think Absalom was the unborn son and possibly named after GF Absalom. Note he names a son Joseph possibly after his brother which is a name not very widely used.
