      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I RICH: SPURLING wth consent of my Wife ELIZA: SPURLING of the County of Rappa. in VIRGA: for and in consideracon of sume of Seaven hundred pounds of VIRGINIA leafe Tobo: to me in hand paid by NICH: COX of the County aforesd have bargained and sold unto the sd Nich: Cox fifty acres of land in Rappa. County on the So: side Bounding as followeth Begininmg at a marked corner Red oake bounding uppon a former Devidt: of land wch I the sd Spurling bought of WM. DENBY and am now possessed wth & runing West and by No: 100 poles thence from a marked red oake No: & by E: 160 poles thence East by So: to the place where it first Begann To Have and To Hold the said 50 acres of land to the sd Nich: Cox his heires IN WITTNESS whereof wee have hereunto sett our hands &seales this 5th day of Aprill 1668.

      KNOW ALL MEN that I HENRY BATTLE [Battaile] of the County of Rappa. for the love and affection which I have to REBECCA COX Orphant of NICHOLAS COX doe from me my heirs and freely and absolutely give and make over unto the said REBECCA COX her heirs and assignes all my right and interest of a tract of land containing One hundred acres being in the County of Rappa on the South side of the said River bounded on the lands of Mr. NICHOLAS COCKEs and the land wch was formerly RICHARD BRIDGARs and JAMES FOSSETTs wth all proffits thereunto belonging or in any ways appertaining to have and to hold the same and every part thereof forever as witness my hand and seal this 5th day of March 1672/3
