      Lewis, James, of St. Stephens Parish
      W. W. 26 October 1747---W. P. 11 January 1747
      Son Peter Lewis-seventy acres of land bounded as follows:-begining at the head of "Ships Cove," thence runing and bending upon the main creek until it shall come to a point called "Mothermans Point," from thence binding on a creek formerly called "Shoars Creek," until it shall come to the head of a cove now called "Drum Cove," frdm thence runing along a line of marked trees until it shall come again to the head of "Ship Cove."
      Son James Lewis-seventy acres of land bounded near the head of "Drum Cove" at a cedar, thence runing a straight course 'till it shall come to a marsh now called the "Horse Marsh" thence binding and runing upon Yeoeccomoco River until it shall come to "Mundays Point," thence binding up "Ship Cove" until it shall come to a marked Pine at the head of the said cove, thence runing along a row of marked trees dividing this land and the land of Peter Lewis until it shall come to the begining post, after the decease of my wife Hannah.
      Son William Lewis-the remainder of the lands I now possess,
      The aforesaid lands were laid off and divided by Mr.Joseph Chatten and my desire is that my son William Lewis shall be in full possession when he shall come to the age of twenty one years.
      If either my sons James or William should die without lawfull issue, their dividend, of land shall be divided between my son Peter and the survivor.
      My wife Hannah-shall have use of any timber upon any of the aforesaid land during her' widowhood, and if she Should marry to have no liberty to make use of any timber, except on that on which she now lives.
      Daughter Mary Cox-negro man Tom two thousand pounds of lawful tobacco, and one iron pot price ten shillings, to be paid her at the decease of my wife Hannah
      Daughter Joannah Corbell-negro man Sam, after the decease of my wife Hannah.
      Daughter Sarah Graves-negro girl. Neil, already delivered to her.
      Son William-may have six months schooling if any school master is conveniant, to be paid out of my estate.
      Rest of my estate to be equally divided between my six children above mentioned, after the decease of my wife Hannah Lewis. Wife Hannah Lewis, son Peter Lewis, and son James Lewis, executors.

      THIS INDENTURE made the Eight day of March in the tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second, King of Great Britain &c., and in the veare of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and thirty six, Between HENRY TUCKER of County of ST. MARYs in ye Province of MARYLAND of one part and WILLOUGHBY NEWTON of Parish of Copley in ye County of Westmorland in ye Coloney of Virginia of other part; Witnesseth that HENRY TUCKER in consideration of Twenty pounds Sterling money to him in hand paid by WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain sell and release unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs &c, a certaine parcell of land containing by stimation Seventy seven acres more or less on which JAMES LEWIS now lives on as a Tennent, wch, Land was formerly conveyed from JOHN TUCKER to BENJAMIN TUCKER, his Uncle, as by Deed dated the twenty six day of August Sixteen hundred ninety six may appear and now become the right of HENRY TUCKER as heir to the said BENJAMIN, his Father, bounding; Begining at a forked Poplar standing by TUCKERS RUN being corner tree to a dividend of land then in the possession of JOHN TUCKER and thence binding E. N. E. upon the TUCKERS RUN and runing the several courses thereof about two hundred poles to a marked Hickory by sd. Branch, thence N. W. thirty poles to another marked Hickory by a small Branch, thence W. S. W. one hundred and ninety poles to a marked Oak, thence So: 20d East ninety eight poles to the first mentioned corner Poplar; Together with all houses orchards profits and hereditaments belonging; To have and to hold the seventy seven acres of land and premises sold unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs &c. And HENRY TUCKER for himself his heirs the seventy seven acres of land with all its appurtenances unto WILLO: NEWTON his heirs &c. shall warrant and forever defend by these presents against thy claime of any person; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hand and seal the day and year above written
