      THIS INDENTURE made the Sixth day of August in the Ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God, King of Great Brittaine, France and Ireland, Defender of the faith &c., Annoq; Dom: 1722; Between MATHEW DAVIES of Parish of Sittenbourn in County of Richmond. Planter, and FRANCES his Wife on one part and JAMES INGO of Parish of Sittenbourn aforesd. in County aforesd Gent., on the other part; Witnesseth tht MATHEW DAVIES and FRANCES his Wife in consideration of sume of Five shillings of currant money of Virga; to them in hand paid by JAMES INGO, by these presents do demise lease and to farm lett unto JAMES INGO his heirs all that their tract of land now in occupation of WILLIAM MARKES and WILLIAM MORING scituate on North side of RAPPAHANOCK RIVER in Parish of Sittenbourn in County aforesd., containing by estimation Three hundred Twenty one acres and bounded: Begining at a marked red Oak near a Swamp at the head of a small Creek which devides the lands late of SAMUELL NICHOLLS and THOMAS & WILLIAM MOSS, and runing thence Northwest by West one hundred sixty two perches to a white Oak neer a Poquoson. thence North North East one hundred and fourteen perches to a white Oak, thence East to a red Oak eighty perches, being a corner tree, thence South two hundred perches, thence South East by East six degrees & halfe Southerly three hundred forty six perches to a Pohickory standing in a line late of ROBERT HOPKINS, thence North by East Easterly two hundred and thirty perches to a marked Oak standing in a small poquoson. thence West three hundred and twenty perches to the place where it began; Together with all houses orchards mines mineralls profits comodities and appurtenances belonging; Except and always reserved out of this present demise and Lease all that parcel! of land lying in ye bounds above specifyed containing One hundred and Ten acres wch: WILLIAM FAUNTLEROY, Gent., lately purchased of MATHEW DAVIES & FRANCES his Wife; To have and to hold the Leased Premises with appurtenances (except before excepted) dureing the full time of one whole year to the intent that by vertue of these presents and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession JAMES INGO may be in the actual! possession of the demised premises and may thereby be enabled to accept a Release of the demised premises; In Witness whereof the sd. France and Ireland, Defender of the faith &c„ Annoq: Dam: 1722, Between MATHEW DAVIES of Parish of Sittenbourn in County of Richmond, Planter, and FRANCES his Wife, of one part and JAMES INGO of Parish of Sittenborn in County aforesd.. Gent., on the other part; Witnesseth that MATHEW DAVIES & FRANCES his Wife (she said FRANCES being solely and secretly examined by one of his Maties justices of the Peace for said County and consenting), in consideration of the natural! love and affection which they have & bare unto MATHEW DAVIES their Son, and also of the Trust and Confidence which they repose and put in JAMES INGO & for divers other good causes and considerations them thereunto especially moving, by these presents do bargaine and sell unto JAMES INGO his heirs all that tract of land now in the occupation of WILLM: MARKES and WILLIAM MOREING, scituate on the North side of RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER in Parish of Sittenbourn containing by estimation Three hundred Twenty one acres & bounded; Begining (the bounds repeated as in the Lease): and all which said released premises were by Letters Pattents bearing date the Twentieth day of March 1663/6, granted to HENRY CRIGHTON, Grandfather of the abovesd. FRANCES, and afterwards given and bequeathed by HENRY CRIGHTON, Father to said FRANCES in and by his Last Will and Testament to her and her heirs , except and always reserved out of this present grant & release all that parcel' of land lying in said bounds containing One hundred and Ten acres which WILLIAM FAUNTLEROY, Gent. lately purchased of MATHEW DAVIES and FRANCES his Wife; To have and to hold the tract of land with other the premises (except before excepted) unto JAMES INGO his heirs to the purposes hereinafter mentioned (that is to say) to the only use of MATHEW DAVIES and FRANCES. party to these presents dureing the terme of their naturall lives and the life of the longest liver of them and after the death of the longest liver of them to the use of MATHEW DAVIES Son of abovesd. MATHEW and FRANCES and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such issue to the use of CRIGHTON DAVIES and WINIFRET DAVIES, Son and Daughter of said MATHEW and FRANCES his Wife, parties to these presents: (the same to be equally divided between them, the sd. CRIGHTON DAVIES having the liberty of his first choice after the same is divided which part he will take), and to no other use; and MATHEW DAVIES for himselfe and for the said FRANCES his Wife their heirs the premises with appurtenances unto JAMES INGO his heirs that MATHEW DAVIES the Son and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten shall at all times after the death of MATHEW DAVIES, the Father, and FRANCES his Wife, and the longest liver of them lawfully occupy & enjoy the released premises; In Witness whereof MATHEW DAVIES & FRANCES his Wife to these presents their hands and seals interchangeably have set the day and year first above written

      DAVIS's Will Sworn to &c.
      The Last Will and Testament of MATHEW DAVIS, deced., was presented in Court by FRANCES DAVIS, his Widow, but the Evidences to the Will not being to be found, therefore the same is ordered to be recorded; and JOHN MORTON, the Executor therein named, havein.g expressly refused to undertake the burthen of the Testament,, and the Court takeing into Consideration that the Estate of the deceased being perishable doe grant Certificate unto FRANCES DAVIS [haveing taken the Oath by Law appointed] for obtaining Letters of Administration with the Will annext in due forme

      HENRY BRUCE, GEORGE NEWMAN, AVERY DYE and ELIAS FENNER or any three of them sometime between this and the next Court are appointed to appraise all and singular the Estate of MATHEW DAVIS, deced., which shall be presented to their view and make report thereof to the next Court. WILLIAM FANTLEROY, Gent., or any other Justice of the Peace for this County, is requested to administer an Oath to the Appraisers for their true appraisment of the Decedent's Estate as also to FRANCES DAVIS, the Administra- trix with the Will annext, for her true discovery thereof
