      WILL OF JAMES BODDINGTON
      In the Name of God Amen. I James Boddington of the Parish of anover of the County of King George being very weak of body but sound of mind and of perfect memory doe constitute make and ordain its my last Will & Testament in hopes of a joyful' resurrection.
      Imps I give my soul to my maker and my body to be decently cried and after all funeral charges are discharged, I give my est:e as followeth.
      Item: I give to my son John Boddington this hundred acres of md whereon I now live to him and his heirs lawfully begotten of s own body and if he should die without such heirs then my desire the said land be equally divided between my two daughters Mary and Elizabeth.
      Item: I give to my son John my bay horse and my gun, my pistls, houlsters & brest plate; one bell mettle skillett and all my coopers tools.
      Item: I give to my daughter Patty Boddington the land which had by my wife Elizabeth after my wives (sic) Decease.
      Item: I give to my well beloved wife my mare and the colt my daughter Mary and the first colt that either of them brings my daughter Elizabeth and all the rest of my estate I do leave be equally divided between my wife and my son and three daughters and I do ordain William Goring and my son John Boddington to be my whole and sole Executors. In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seale this twelfth day of March in the year of our Lord God
      One thousand Seven hundred and thirty four.

      At a Court held for King George County the 6th of June 1735.
      The last Will & Testament of James Boddington, Decd, was presented into Court and William Goring one of the Executors therein named refusing to take the burthen of the execution and John Boddington the other executor not being of age and Elizabeth, Widdow of the said Deceased relinquishing her right of administration to the said estate, on the motion of Jeremiah Murdock, Gent:, administration on the said estate with the will annexed is granted unto the said Jeremiah he being the greatest Creditor.
