      THIS INDENTURE made the 30 day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven and in the Eleventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c:, Between NICHOLAS MINOR of Cople Parish in Westmorland County, Planter, and JEMIMAH his Wife (late Relict of LAWRENCE POPE of Washington Parish in County of Westmorland, deceased) of one part and SAMSON DEMONVILE, an Infant, Son of SAMUEL DEMONVILE late of the Parish of Washington in County aforesaid, deceased, of other part; Witnesseth that NICHOLAS MINOR and JEMIMAH his Wife for divers good causes and consideration but more especially in consideration of one Shill: current mony to them in hand paid by FRANCIS AWBREY, JUNIOR, and ROSE his Wife, late the Widow of the aforesaid SAMUEL DEMONVILE, deceased, as next Friends to SAMSON DEMONVILE, party to these presents, the receipt whereof NICHOLAS MINOR doth hereby acknowledge;
      NOW KNOW YEE that NICHOLAS MINOR and JEMIMAH his Wife doth utterly quilt claim unto SAMSON DEMONVILE, party to these presents; and to his heirs all their claim and right as they ever had or hereafter may have by reason of the Dower of JEMIMAH in the third part of three hundred thirty three acres and a half of land scituate in Parish of Washington which her late Huband, LAWRENCE POPE, died seized of and was since his decease sold and conveyed unto SAMUEL DEMONVILE, deceased, by HUMPHREY POPE, Son and Heir of LAWRENCE POPE, by Deeds of Lease and Release bearing date the twenty third and twenty fourth days of February one thousand seven hundred and thirty five, the land now being in the actual possession of FRANCIS AWBREY and ROSE his Wife by means of their intermarriage so that neither NICHOLAS MINOR and JEMIMAH his Wife nor any other in their name shall at any time claim any right or pretence of Title of Dower either as Relict of LAWRENCE POPE or any other way; In Witness whereof thv parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and affixed their seals

At a Court continued and held for the said County the 1st day of December 1737 NICHOLAS MINOR and JEMIMA his Wife, late Relict of LAWRENCE POPE, deceased (she being first privately examined) personally acknowledged this Deed for Relinquishment of Dower the said JEMIMA had to certain Land in the said Deed mentioned to be and enure to SAMSON DEMONVILL an Infant under the care of FRANCIS AWBREY and ROSE his Wife. which at the intance of the said AWBREY is admitted to Record G. TURBERVILE, C. C. W.
