      IN THE NAME OF GOD. Amen. Whereas I EDWARD MARCY of Washington Parish in Westmoreland County, Virginia having under consideracon of the uncertainty of this transitory life and being of perfect sence & disposeing mind & memory do make & ordain this my Last Will & Testament in manner & form following.
      Imprs I give &, hequeath to my three Sons, JOIN MARCY. EDWARD MARCY and THOMAS MARCY, two hundred & fifty acres of Land equally to be divided between the sd. Children. and likewise to my three Sons. JOHN. EDWARD & THOMAS abovenamed, one Heifer & Calf apeice with one pewter dish, two basons & four plates to be delivered to each of them at the age of one & twenty.
      Secondly. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter, ANN MARCY. one feather bed with the furniture thereunto belonging & one iron pott & frying pan to be delivered to her at the age of sixteen or day of marriage;
      Thirdly. I give & bequeath to my well beloved Wife, MARTHA MARCY, all the remaining part of Estate whatsoever with fifty acres of land in this tract where I now live to dispose of as she sees Fitt. I do hereby make void all other Will or Wills heretofore made by me. Give under my hand and seal this 28th day of May 1724. I leave my Wife. MARTHA MARCY. sole Exrx. of my Estate.       THIS INDENTURE made the twenty eighth day of September in the twen386 tieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., And in the year of our Lord 1747; Between EDWARD MASSEY and JOHN MASSEY of Washington Parish in County of Westmorland, Planters, of one part and JEREMIAH KIRK of said County and Parish of other part; Witnesseth that EDWARD and JOHN MASSEY for sum of Five shillings to them in hand paid by JEREMIAH KIRK, the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell lunto JEREMIAH KIRK all that parcel of land containing by estimation One hundred and twelve acres more or less lying in County and Parish aforesaid being part of a greater tract of land granted JOHN BREWERTON by Patent bearing date the first day of Novemer one thousand six hundred sixty four, which land was transfer'd unto MALACHY PEALE who transfer'd the same to EDWARD and JOHN MASSEY's Grandfather, EDWARD MASSEY, who will'd the same to their Father and their Father to them the twenty eighth day of May one thousand seven hundred and twenty four and bounded, Begining at a Sickemore standing in an Old Field, extending thence No. 33ds. W. 48 poles to a Sassifriss Post, thence N. 2ds. W. along a line of marked trees butting the Land of JOHN FRYER, thence South 2ds. West along a line of mark'd trees dividing this land from the land of JOHN DISHMAN to the Mane Road commonly call'd HALES ROAD, thence up the Road to the beginning, together with all rights members and appurtenances to the parcel of land belonging; To have and to hold the land and premises with appurtenances unto JEREMIAH KIRK his heirs during the term of one whole year paying therefore the rent of one Ear of Indiar Corn upon the last day of the said term if lawfully demanded to the intent that by vii tue of these presents and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession, JEREMIAH KIRK may be in the actual possession of the premises and thereby be the better enabled to take a release of the inheritance thereof to him and his heirs. In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written

At a Court held for the said County the 29th day of September 1747 EDWARD MASSEY and JOHN MASSEY came into Court and personally acknowledged this Deed of Lease for Lands by them passed to JEREMIAH KIRK to be their proper act and deed, and ELIZABETHs the Wives of the said EDWARD and JOHN (being first privily examined according to Law), relinquished their Rights of Dower and Inheritance of in and to the Lands by the said Deed conveyed, all which on motion of the said KIRK is admitted to Record
