      Be it known that Elijah Leg personally appeared before me a Justice of
      the Peace in the County aforesaid and made oath that John Leg served
      in the Revolutionary War near about seven years ... under Captain John
      Blackwell of the Third Virginia Regiment. That the deponent well
      recollects his going about thirty miles with the said John Leg when
      the troops were in their way ... that the said John Leg is now about
      sixty six years old ...
