      Mary "Mollie" Metcalfe Rodgers (1747-1840-CIRCA)

      They came with their children from Virginia, down the Wilderness Road and through the Cumberland Gap to Garrard County in 1801 and in 1805 settled on Six-Mile Creek in Shelby County, Kentucky. Their ten children were Daniel, George, Charles (who died in the War of 1812), Travis, Elias, Eli, Joseph, John, Jr., Matilda Moudy, and William Edward. They settled in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, and Indiana. John and Molly’s graves are believed to be located near this spot and are marked by a field stone etched with "JR/MA"
