      To eldest son John Garrett, tract Part of "Brothers Good Will," containing 200 acres on his paying 200 to Peter Cayne it being the last payment due on said land.
      To son Bartin Garrett, 243 acres of Maryland Tract" to take part of the Lott #14 and Negro man Lam, live stock, bed, bedding, pot, lumber, an tract "Brothers Good Will."
      To youngest son Allen Garrett, 400 acres on said "Maryland Tract" part of lot #14 part of #22, also tract "Pains Delight".
      To dau, Elizabeth Garrett, Negro wench Sarah, stock and furniture.

      Will of Nathan Garrett

      Maryland & Frederick County In the Name of God Amen. I Nathan Garrett of the County and Province aforesaid being sick and Weak of Body but of sound & perfect Memory thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and Form as follows. First and Foremast I recommend my Soul unto the Hands of Almighty God that gave it & my body to the Earth from whence it came to be buried in a decent manner according to the Discretion of my Executor and I do hereby make any and all Wills by me heretofore made or signed In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this twenty fourth Day of December in the year of our Lord 1771 Imprimis I do hereby constitute and appoint my well beloved Wife Elizabeth Garrett my whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and after my just Debts and funeral Expenses are paid I give and bequeath my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in manner as follows (Item) I give and bequeath to my loving Son Odell Garrett a Negro Girl named Sarah together with her Issue my sd Son to be possessed with this Negroe Sarah and her Issue at the age of eighteen years but if my Son Odell should not live to that Term of years then it is my Will that the sd Negro Girl with her Issue should be the property of my beloved Wife Elizabeth Garrett (Item) After my just Debts are paid I give and Bequeath unto my well beloved Wife Elizabeth Garrett all the Residue of my Estate whether real personull and in Testomony of which in the presents of the herein Witness I acknowledge this my Last Will and Testament and do hereunto set my Hand & Seal the Dare above

      Basil Prather, Thomas Odell Jeremiah Lewis Son the 19th Day of June 1772 Came Basil Prather Thomas Odell and Jerimeah Lewis the three subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing Will and made Oath in the holy Evangelish of Almight God that they did see the Testator Nathan Garrett sign and seal the said Will & heard him publish pronouced and declare this same to be his Last Will and Testament and at the Time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of a sound and disposing mind and Memory and they severally subscribed their Names as Witnesses to the said Will in the presence of the said Testator and in the presence of each other

      At the request of Nathan Garrott the following Lease is recorded Aug 21 1771 To Wit
      This Indenture made the 22'd day of Feb'y in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred & Seventy one Between Josiahs Beall of Prince Georges County of the one part and Nathan Garrott of Frederick County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Josias Beall for and in Consideration of the Yearly Rents & Covenants herein after mentioned on the part of the said Nathan Garrett, to be performed fulfilld & kept hath demis'd granted and to farm let and by these presents doth demise Grant and to Farm let unto the said Nathan Garrett all that part of a tract belonging to the said Josias Beall lying and being in Fred'k County called Bealls Reserve containd in the Courses & bounds following Beginning at the end of forty six perches in the Seventh line of John Robertsons Lott & running thence North Seventy Six degrees West Ninety four perches to the Second line of Bealls Reserve then South fifty Seven Degrees, West thirteen perches, then South three degrees and one Quarter of a degree West One Hundred & thirty two perches then South Seventy five degrees West one Hundred & Twenty Three perches to Jn'o Robinsons Lott thence to the beginning containing & now laid out for One Hundred Acres To have the said parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances, Benefits and Advantages to the same belonging according to the Covenants herein expressed unto the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators and assigns from the first day of December next for and during and until the full end & term of fifteen Years from thence ensuing and fully to be compleat and ended Yielding and paying Therefor Yearly & every Year during the said Term unto the said Josias Beall his Heirs, Ex'r Adm'r or Assigns at his or their dwelling House the Yearly rent of four shillings Sterling money and one crop of nine Hundred & fifty pounds of Inspected Tobacco clear of Cask in Bladensburgh Warehouse at or upon the Tenth day of June next after the said Yearly rents become due and if it shall happen that the said Yearly rent shall be behind & unpaid in part or the whole by the space of twenty days next after the said Tenth day of June Yearly on which the same ought to be paid as aforsaid. That then and at all times after it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Josias Beall his heirs, Executors, Administrators into the said demisd, Tenement, and premises or into any part thereof in the name of the Whole to reenter and the same to have again repossess and enjoy as in his and their former Estate: and the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators and Assigns thereout and from thence expel and put out and for what Rent shall be behind and unpaid to distrain [?] upon the goods & Chattles of the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators or Assigns any thing Reseivd[?] Contained to the Contrary thereof in any ways not withstanding and the said Nathan Garrott for himself his Executors Adm'rs and Assigs doth Covenant and grant to & with the said Josias Beall his Heirs, Executors and Administrators by these presents that he the said Nathan Garrott his Executors, Adm'rs and Assigns shall & will during the said Term hereby demis'd will & truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Josias Beall his Heirs Executors, Adm'rs or Assigns the said Yearly rent of four Shillings Sterling money & one Crop Hogshead of nine Hundred & fifty pounds or Inspected Tobacco clean of Cask in Bladensbur Warehouse at the time and place and in the manner above mention'd for the payment of the same according to the Reservation Thereof as aforesaid and the true intent and meaning of these presents, and also that the said Nathan Garrott his Ex'rs Administrators and Assigns shall not dispose of any Timber nor fell nor cut down or otherways destroy any Timber Trees growing on the premises unless for clearing Ground & nessesarys to be us'd about the Premises and also that he the Nathan Garrott his Heirs, Ex'rs Administrators & Assigns do not nor shall under the Yearly rent aforesaid employ or work on the said demis'd Land any other or more than one person or labourer of any kind, more than the said Nathan Garrott & his Children But the said Nathan Garrott doth by these presents, Covenant agree and oblidge himself his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns to pay the further additional Rent of two hundred pounds of Nett Crop Tobacco as above for every such person to be Worked or Employd on the said Land to be Yearly paid in manner & time and under like Conditions with the Rent before Reservd and Expressed also that the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators or Assigns shall & will on or before the first day of December Seventeen Hundred & Seventy two plant one hundred good Apple Trees at the least on said demis'd tenement and keep them well fend'd in and from time to time plant others in the Room of such as shall happen to die & further that the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators or Assigns shall not assign or in any wise make over any part or parcel of the premises to any person whatever without the Consent in Writing under the hand of the said Josias Beall first had and obtaind and also that the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators and Assigns build upon the said Demis'd premises & dwelling House at least sixteen feet square and a Tobacco Home forty feet in length and the usual Dimensions in Breadth/agreeable to Thomas ____s [?] Lease and lastly that the said Nathan Garrott his Executors Administrators or Assigns shall leave the said lands & premises with the Buildings, Fences, Orchards, & other Improvements therein in good sufficient & tenantable repair at the Expiration or other determination of this demise and the said Josias Beall for himself his Heirs, Ex'rs, administrators, and Assigns doth Covenant and agree to and with the said Nathan Garrott and all rightfully claiming by virtue of this demise that paying the Yearly Rent and performing all and every other the Covenants herein expressed shall & may peaceably hold Occupy & enjoy the parcel of land and premises herein demis'd without let hindrance or Molestation of him the said Josias Beall his Heirs or Assigns or any claiming or to claim by or under him them or any of them In Witness whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands & seals the day & Year above written Josias Beall (Seal)

      On the Back of which Deed was the following Indorsments To Wit
      Prince Georges County Feb'y 22 1771 came the aforesaid Josias Beall & Nathan Garrett and each of them on their parts severally acknowledged this Instrument as their Act and Deed for and to the uses therein expressed before us Geo Hardy Jun'r Geo Frazer Hawkins

      Maryland Prince Georges County-Thereby Certify that Mss'r Geo Hardy Jun'r & Geo Frazer Hawkins Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgement was taken were at the time of taking the same and still are two of his Lordships The Right Honourable The Lord proprietary his Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid lawfully authorized and Assigned & to all acknowledgements by them so taken and signd due faith & credit is and ought to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout
      In Testemony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix'd the public Seal of the County aforesaid this first day of March Anno que [?] Domini Seventeen hundred & Twenty one
