      June 1757 - In the case, Bayne Smallwood & Co. vs. Joshua Blackett [sic; Blanchett?] who is runaway, Blackett's property to the value of 531 lbs. of tobacco is attached in the hands of Edward Milstead.

      Aug. 1757 - Walter Hanson vs. Edward Milstead, of Charles Co., planter. Hanson alleged that in Oct. 1755 at Charles Co. Milstead signed a promissory note in which he agreed to pay Hanson 900 lbs. of crop tobacco in Apr. 1756, the note being for 9 barrells of Indian corn. Into court comes John Winter, of Charles Co., planter, and becomes security for Edward. At the Aug. 1757 Court Edward admitted that he owed Hanson the 900 lbs. of tobacco and the Court found for Hanson in that amount, plus 6 pence currency and 242 lbs. of tobacco for his costs and charges.

      Dec. 1758 - In the case, Richard Davis vs. John Simpson, Davis obtained a writ of attachment against Simpson's property. The property attached by the Sheriff was appraised by John Barker, William Harges Gray, Edward Milstead and Randolph Gray.

      Apr. 1761 - Edward Milstead, aged 66 years or thereabouts, gave a deposition at a land commission for "Mountain" owned by Leonard Milstead. The deposition mentions his father Edward Milstead about 30 years ago.

      Aug. 1773 - Henry Davis vs. Edward Milstead of Charles Co., planter, special bail for George Delozier. In Mar. 1772 Milstead was special bail for Delozier when Davis obtained a judgment against Delozier for 1047 lbs. crop tobacco, plus 253 lbs. of tobacco for his costs and charges. Davis brought an action to execute on this judgment against Milstead. At the Aug. 1773 Court Milstead offered no defense and the Court ordered that Davis have execution against Milstead for those sums, plus 266 lbs. of tobacco as the cost of this proceeding.

      Mar. 1774 - Henry Davis vs. Edward Milstead, of Charles Co., planter, special bail of George Delozier. Suit for 1047 lbs. of crop tobacco plus 253 lbs. of tobacco for costs and charges and another 276 lbs. of tobacco for his costs and charges in bringing this action against Milstead as special bail. At the Nov. 1773 Court Milstead made default and the Court ordered that Davis have execution against Milstead for these sums. At the Mar. 1774 Court, the Sheriff returned the writ endorsed, Satisfied.

      Aug. 20, 1784 - Edwrd Milsted of Charles Co., planter, deeds to Samuel Milstead (Melstead) of Charles Co., planter, for 6000 lbs. of crop tobacco, part of a tract of land called the "Two Loving Brothers," lying on the west side of Ward's Run, bounded by a tract of land called "Non Such," containing 80 acres. Signed Edward Milstead (his mark, same as the Aug. 1768 mark.)

      The will of Edward Milstead, Sr., was offered for probate on May 15, 1796 by Mathew Milstead. On May 16, 1796 came two of the subscribing witnesses,Thomas Delozier and Elizabeth Delozier (formerly Elizabeth Milstead), and stated that they witnessed the will. Both Thomas and Elizabeth refer to Elizabeth Delozier as being formerly Elizabeth Milstead, but neither says that Elizabeth was the wife of Thomas.

      William Coe married about 1749 in Charles County, MD, Jane Milstead, born 1731, departed this life April the 14th age 74 - 1805, daughter of Edward Jr. and Catherine (Barker) Milstead of Charles County. In Edward Milstead's will, dated February 2, 1771, Charles County, he stated: I give to my daughter Jain Coe one English shilling and no more. Presented to the Charles County court May 15, 1796, by Matthew Milstead, witnesses were Elizabeth Milstead, Thomas Pelezier and John Elgin; probated June term 1796. He made other bequests to his grandson Edward Milstead, sons Matthew and Edward Milstead, and daughters Elizabeth Franklin, Frances Hudson and Anne Clinkseales.

And likewise, another tract of land called Nonsuch, lying in the wood upon the branches of the main fresh that falls into Pointing Cr in CC, bounded by the head of Lamberts Valley, containing and laid out for about 100 acres.
