=== Marylanders to Carolina-Henry C. Peden, Jr.
CAMPBELL, ENEAS. Eneas (or Enos) Campbell was born on October 3,
1757 in Maryland and reportedly served in the Revolutionary War.
He married Elizabeth Ann Belt on February 25, 1791, who was his
second wife. She was born on February 20, 1767, and their
children were: Thomas Campbell (born April 10, 1793); Elijah
Campbell (born January 17, 1795); Umprey Campbell (born February
18, 1797); Esther Campbell (born January 3, 1799, and married a
Nichbell?); Asa Campbell (born March 28, 1801); Rutha Campbell
(born May 27, 1803); Belt Campbell (born September 9, 1805);
Elizabeth c. Campbell (born September 23, 1807, and married a
Tiner); and, David C. Campbell (born February 26, 1810). Enos
Campbell died on October 15, 1828, and his widow died on January 3, 1853.
Their son, David c. Campbell, applied for any pension
(Rl627) due his father or his widow on August 6, 1855, in Wilkes
County, Georgia, but was rejected. Asa Swan, of Iredell County,
North Carolina, stated he was 91 years old in 1855 and he knew
Enos Campbell when he married his second wife Liza Ann Belt (Ref:
VDW-522). Aeneas Campbell, in fact, was a Captain in the Upper
District of Frederick County in 1776 [now Washington County] and
he enrolled many soldiers, including one Aeneas Campbell, Jr., a
cadet, on July 18, 1776 (Ref: AMD-48, 49).

Eliza Ann Belt Campbell is also buried in New Hope Church Cemetery in Iredell County, NC just steps away from her husband and father and several of her children, DAR marker on grave site.
