  === Fredric Z. Saunders 2002-12-05 Howard Family There are no records showing the maiden name of Edward DORSEY's wife Anne. That it is HOWARD is a myth started by someone's submission to the LDS Ancestral File, listing his wife as Anne HOWARD, daughter of Matthew HOWARD. Matthew HOWARD did have a daughter named Anne but she married James GREENEFE. (See MD Wills 2:215-216 and 7:79-80) Also, there IS documentation that Matthew's son Matthew Jr. married Sarah DORSEY, daughter of Edward DORSEY and wife Ann. Were Edward DORSEY's wife Anne a daughter of Matthew HOWARD, Sr., that would mean she was a sister to Matthew HOWARD, Jr., which would mean that Matthew HOWARD, Jr.'s wife Sarah DORSEY would have been his niece by blood. Such a marriage was strictly forbidden by law, then as today. The maiden name of Edward DORSEY's wife Anne is unknown
