The Will was probated in Chas Co. on Jan. 21, 1815. (Proved in 1814, Trustee Peter Wood Crain.
A lawsuit was initiated in 1834 when Joseph M. Adams brought his brother to task for not making an official parcel for Rachel. This suit provided the information that Francis I. Adams had died in 1830 apparently childless, naming his nephews and nieces, heir to wit., Richard Adams, Robert H. Clements, Eleanor Clements, Genrad Clements, Walter Clements, Charles A. Clements, Aloyisus Clement, Albine Clement, Ignatius Clements, all who lived in Washington, DC. Additional information contained in the suit documentation stated that Gustavas and Joseph had each shared the house with Rachel. A tenant was living in the house at the time of the suit and the house was stated to be in poor condition.
In 1837, the Court ruled that the division must be made and sent the County Commissioners to lay out Rachels land. The plat drawing shows the land to be bordered by Richard Barnes, Henry C. Bruce and Mary McConchie.
Note: Mary Ann (Adams) Clements and a sister name unknown were deceased prior to 1830. The unknown sister married Leonard Clements and had a son Robert H. Clements
