      "For the Nashville Christian Advocate."

Sister Mary Canter, the subject of this notice, was a native of Maryland. Her parents crossed the Atlantic and settled on the new continent, from under the rigors of Povery. She was united in wedlock to Zachariah Canter, and shortly after removed west, and settled in Kentucky, and then removed to Tennessee, and from thence, with her oldest daughter and youngest son, to Arkansas, Bradley county, now Drew county, where she, at the house of her only daughter, Elizabeth L. Holleman, breathed her last in great peace; aged seventy five years, seven months, and twelve days.
