      DIED, on Sunday night, the 15th inst. in the 35th year of his age, William T. Swann, Esq. of Alexandria. He has left an amiable and affectionate wife, and a family of small children, to deplore his loss.

      Received of Henry T. Compton, Administrator of Edward Swann Dec'd, all the personal estate devised me and my brother Edward Swann by my father's last will and testament amounting as per the Inventory filed in court to Twenty Two Hund and Sixty Nine dollars $2,269. January 7, 1815

Halfway down the page you find Feb. 29, 1811 William Thomas Swann imported 13 slaves (their names and ages are given). Most of the names match up to the slave names in the will of Edward Swann from 1803, when he devised them to his children.

      In the 1810 census for Washington & Prince Frederick Hundreds, Prince George's Co. MD. there is W. T. Swann 0-0-1-0-0 0-0-1-0-1. The enumeration date for the 1810 census was Aug. 22, 1810. William T. Swann married Frances Alexander on July 12, 1810 (Bondsman: Thomas Swann) so the 16-26 male in the home was Wm. T. The 16-26 female was his new wife Frances. The 45&up female was his mother Nancy Ann Swann.

      A deed dated June 8, 1807 between "William T. Swann of the Dictrict of Columbia and Ann Swann of Prince George's County, Maryland" and "Caleb Thomas of Charles County and state of Maryland..." They sell Caleb Thomas a "tract of land called Pascum Enlarged in Prince George's County..."
      William T. Swann was about 22 and was commuting back and forth between DC and PGC, pursuing a career like his older brother Thomas Hon. Swann. Ann Swann in this deed would be Wm. T. Swann's mother, and widow of Edward Swann who died in 1803.

      -and in order to help pay the bonds off, testator leaves all the estate devised to them in the hands of Henry T. Compton
      -Samuel to have 20 Negroes now in the hire of Henry T. Compton
      -to have 30 head of cattle, 3 yoke of oxen, 6 head of horses, and 6 feather beds and fur.
