Margaret Estep, Will, December 5, 1847; January 18, 1848
I, Margaret Estep of CC, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
To daughter Louisa Estep, all my interest in the farm lying on Swansons Creek, called "Swanson's Retreat" and after her death to daughter Catharine M. Wall, and after her death to her son Richard P. Wall.
To daughter Louisa Estep, negro Peter (23 yrs.) and negro Marrion daughter of Sarah.
To daughter Catharine M. Wall, negro John son of Matilda, 1 bed bedstand and furniture, 1 new carpet, two dozen knives and forks, 1 dozen silver table and desert spoons, 1 pair brass candlesticks and 1 bureau. I further give a portion arising out of the process of the forest and place or plantation lying partially in Charles County and St. Mary's County, sufficient to enable her to pay and satisfy Thomas B. Estep of St. Mary's County for the balance due him on the portion of the plantation where my daughter now resides.
To {grand}daughter Mary Margaret Matthews, negro boy son of Matilda (8 yrs.)
To grandson Richard P. Wall, negro Mary daughter of Lettitia (5 yrs.)
To {grand}daughter Margaret Turner, negro Georgiana, daughter of Susan (5 yrs.)
To granddaughter Harriet Martin, negroes Francis (5 yrs.), and Joseph (3 yrs.) who are now in the possession of Thomas Martin. I also give her the priveledge of taking negro Martha at 400 dollars, as she is the mother of the two above named negro boys.
To vestry of All Faith Parish, 50 dollars.
To grandson Thomas B. Estep, 1 bed bedstand and furniture now at Charlotte Hall, ½ dozen silver tea spoons.
To daughter Catharine M. Wall and Elizabeth Estep, my carriage and gear.
Item: I give the residue of my property to be equally divided among my daughter Catharine M. Wall, my grand children, Mary Margaret Matthews, Harriet Martin, Richard P. Wall, Margaret Turner wife of George A. Turner and Thomas B. Estep share and share alike with the exception of Thomas B. Estep from whose proportion, the sum of 660 dollars is to be deducted and distributed among the last named residuary legatees.
Item: granddaughter Mary Margaret Matthews after all the expenses in the settlement have been paid will equally divide with her sister Harriet Martin the percentage that may be awarded to her by the court for the settlement of my estate.

At the request of Thomas Barber the following Deed was recorded August 22, 1804
Deed made July 13, 1804; between John Forbes of one part and Louisa Estep, Lydia Dent Estep, Thomas Barber Estep, Richard Chapman Estep and Catharine Margaret Estep of the other part. Whereas Philemon Estep father of Louisa Estep, Lydia Dent Estep, Thomas Barber Estep, Richard Chapman Estep and Catharine Margaret Estep did in his lifetime purchase of John Forbes, "Lot No. 15" in Calverton Manor and whereas John Forbes by his bond of conveyance bearing date January 16, 1796 did oblige himself to make over and convey to Philemon Estep, his heirs, executors a good conveyance. Now this indenture witnesseth that John Forbes in consideration of 850 pound current money paid by Louisa Estep, Lydia Dent Estep, Thomas Barber Estep, Richard Chapman Estep and Catharine Margaret Estep has sold "Lot No. 15" in Calverton Manor and beginning on a point of Swanson's Creek, the beginning of "Lot No. 7", "Lot No. 8" & "Lot No. 9" Robert Young, "Lot No. 14" Mary Venables, "Lot No. 21", "Lot No. 22" & "Lot No. 27" William Canter Jr., "Mountains", containing 400 acres, 1 rod and 35 perches. And which John Forbes purchased of the commissioners by patent dated November 2, 1802. Signed John Forbes in the presence of and acknowledged before Walter Dyson, Henry A. Smith
