      Currituck Co. Will Book 1, p. 26

      In the name of God Amen, I William SNOWDEN of Currituck County and in the province of North Carolina Planter, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory Thanks be to Almighty God for it and now calling to mind this transtory life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and after death to judgement I comment my body to the dust and there from whence it came and my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be buried in such Christian like manner as shall be to the [faded out] of my Executor there after mentioned and as for my worldly estate where with it pleased Almighty God to Bless me with I do bestow it in manner as follows.

      I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann WILLIAMS one shilling sterling money of Grate Britain to be her portionable part of my estate to her and her heirs forever.

      I give and bequeath unto my Son John Baptist SNOWDEN one shilling sterling money of Great Britain my every day wearing apparel to him and his heirs forever.

      I give and bequeath to my Son William SNOWDEN one shilling sterling money of Greate Britain my best coate and breitris to him and his heirs forever.

      I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary SNOWDEN one Doller to her and her heirs forever.

      I give and bequeath unto William BAXTER one heifer yearling to him and his heirs forever.

      [beginning of next several lines faded out and illegible] my silver shoe buckels half a dozen of silver ____________ call my house hold goods in Maryland _______________ bays two yews and lambs my best hatt and fifty pounds ___________ lawfull intrest by my Executors while he comes to _____ eighteen years of age ___ ___ and then be delivered to him for my wilins(?) that he should be set _____ eighteen years of age ______ in case he should die before he comes to years of _______________Then my will and desire is that his part of my estate should be equally devided between my Daughter Mary SNOWDEN and my Son William SNOWDEN's children ____ them and their heir forever.

      [NOTE: The rest of this will only a word here and there is legible so I am not going to just put in several words. He does mention his wife Ann SNOWDEN and she and his son William are his executors. Signed and sealed in October 8, 1764. Recorded and examined January 1765. The witnesses and are torn off.]
