Lydia Stephens was married twice. She had 2 children (charles and Phillipa) from husband William Bowling and 1 daughter (Mary Green) from her marriage to an unknown Green. Mary Green married a Jordan. A referenced property record indicates John Jordan and none of these grandchildren are named in their grandmother Lydia's will, but all other grandchildren are named. That leads me to believe that Mary is not the mother of the Jordan children, but possibly the second wife. No will has been found for the late Jordan. She then married Thomas Allston (various spellings of the surname are found) and bore two children: Mary Stephens and William. In the Will of Lydia Bowling she names grandchildren: Indiana Tippett, William Allston, William Washington Bowling, Mary Tippett. Mary Stephens Allston married Robert Tippett of SMCo on 8 Feb 1822. She then names Great Grandchildren Jane Rebecca Tippett, Richard Henry Bowling, Robert Henry Tippett, William R. Cheseldine and the residue to Kenelm G. Cheseldine. Robert Tippett is named as her grandson-in-law and William Allston grandson as co-executors.
