Charles County Court Records, November 1738 Court, Liber T#2, Page 527.
Pursuant to the order of last Jun Court, Commission issued to examine witnesses touching the bounds of a tract of land called Keets (Keits) Rest, lying in CC, in the possession of William Simpson. Commissioners appointed: Henry Hawkins, Samuel Hawkins, Richard Willson, and William Middleton, (not being any way related to the Petitioner, contiguous Proprietor, nor interested in the sd land).
      Signed Jun 16, 1738 - SHanson, Clerk.
And now here, Henry Hawkins & Samuel Hawkins, return to this Court the Commission afd with the following certificate and subsequent depositions:
We met upon the within mentioned tract of land called Keets Rest, and there took all such evidence as was then offered to us, which is hereunto annexed. Signed Aug 22, 1738 0 Henry Hawkins, Saml Hawkins.

CC, Aug 22, 1738. The deposition of Joseph Ruthom, age about 60, who declares that near the place where he now stands, being near the head of Peter Montgomery's Spring Branch, Abraham Lemastre told him that there, or thereabouts, stood the 1st bound tree of Keets Rest.

Francis Wheatly, age about 66, declares that an old lying [line?] tree by which he now stands, was shown him by William Newman Sr, to be one of the bound trees of his own land called Millers Choice, and he has heard several times that Keets Rest bound on the afd land.
Ordered that the Clerk rectify any error that may have happened in the County Levy.
