    • JOHN DAMERON, JR., Will dated May 1, 1777, proved August, 1778, Halifax County,N
      mentioning wife Sarah, Will Book 2, p. 82:
      "In the name of God Amen, I JOHN DAMERON of County of Halifax, being sick and
      weak but of perfect mind and Memory do make and Ordain this to be my last will and
      Testament in manner and form as followeth, viz:
      "Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Sarah Dameron all my estate during
      her widowhood or life. Item I give and bequeath to my son Tignor Dameron one shilling
      sterling to him and his heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Christop
      her Dameron the Manour plantation whereon I now live to him and his heirs forever
      and my desire is that if Christopher die without heir of his body then the Land fall
      to my son John Dameron and if he die without heirs of his body then the Land be
      divided between my two daughters Sarah and Judith.
      "Item. I give to my son Joseph Dameron one shilling sterling to him and his
      heirs for ever. Item. I give to my daughter Betty Williams one cow and calf to
      her and her heirs forever.. Item my desire is that all my movable Estate except the
      above mentioned Legacies should be equally divided . among my four youngest children,
      Sarah & Judith, Christopher and John Dameron after my wifes death or marriage and
      I do appoint my friend Elijah Humphries and Spencer Hurst my Executors to this my
      last will and Testament disannuling all other. wills by me made as Witness my hand
      and seal this the 1st day of May Anno Domini 1777.
