      Indenture made July 24, 1767; Thomas Clagett and Mary Clagett his wife, Henry Davison and Martha Ann Davison and his wife, Philip Berry and Elizabeth Berry his wife and Eleanor Towgood {Widow} in consideration of 100 pounds sterling money paid by William Beanes have sold part of a tract called "Hales Rest" [sic "Haile Rest"] containing 130 acres; also the remaining part of "Bristoll" containing 21 acres and beginning at the end of the first line of "Haile Rest" and bordering on "Craycrofts Right" and "Brooke Ridge". Signed Thomas Clagett, Mary Clagett, Philip Berry, Elizabeth Berry, Eleanor Towgood in the presence of and acknowledged before Alexander Symmer, David Craufurd and at the same the three wives relinquished their right of dower.
