I, William Scott, in Maryland, planter, for the love I have for my son-in law, Thomas Hamilton, I have given him part of a tract of land called William and Mary Increased, bounded by a bounded white oak standing near the Main Road and near the plantation where sd Thomas Hamilton now lives, containing and laid out for about 924 acres, together with all the right to sd granted premises to him, sd Thos Hamilton during his life, upon consideration that he secures to his son, Wm Hamilton, 100 acres of good land, convenient, otherwise to be possessed by sd Wm Hamilton at the age of 21 years. But if sd Thomas Hamilton dies before his son William comes to age, then sd land so given to remain to the use of the sd William Hamilton as I and mine shall think fit until the sd William comes to age, and then to remain to him and his heirs lawfully begotten of his body, and on default of such heirs, then to my granddaughter, Ruth Hamilton and her heirs of her body lawfully begotten, and on default of such heirs, then to my daughter Rachel Scott and the heirs forever.
