      Indenture made February 3, 1755; Samuel Copeland of St. Mary's County, Maryland, planter (who was son and heir to Samuel Copeland, who was son and heir to Samuel Copeland) which said Samuel Copeland (who was grandfather to Samuel Copeland, the party to these presents) purchased the land hereafter mentioned of Alexander Magruder by deed bearing date June 9, 1673 and recorded in Calvert County, Maryland, in consideration of 5 pounds sterling money paid by Alexander Magruder, planter, has sold part of a tract called "Coxes Hayes" containing 100 acres and binding on the Patuxent River and lands of Peter Archer, William Rought and Willam Wills.
