      Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber Z#2, 1744-1753; Page 289. At the request of James Adams, the following lease was recorded on Oct 5, 1748.
      Sep 27, 1748 from William Macpherson of CC, planter, to James Adams of CC, planter, the lease of a parcel of land in CC, being part of 3 tracts of land called Rayly, Payns Addition, and Payne Second Addition, bounded by Rayley, containing and now laid out for about 150 acres. This is a 14 year lease, starting from next Nov 10. After the first 2 years, the yearly rent is 800 lbs tobacco at some convenient landing on Potomack in CC. If Adams has more than 3 laborers-, for each over 3, Adams must pay 2000 lbs tobacco per year. Adams is to build a 30 foot tobacco house and a corn house 10X15 feet, and a mansion house 25x15 feet, and in 2 years, plant 100 apple trees. Adams is not to waste timber.
