In Oct. 1700, the Provincial Court directed Gerrard Fowlke, the Sheriff of Charles Co., to cause 12 good and lawful men of his bailywick to admeasure all the tracts and set a 1/3 part of them off as Ann's dowry. In Nov. 1700, the 12 men, including John Barron, admeasured the widow's third of "Bryer Wood" and this Fowlke reported back to the Provincial Court, together with his statement that "I am not informed of any other lands in these writs mentioned within my bailywick to be admeasured."
