      In the Name of God Amen. The Last Will and Testament of JOHN BOND of Culpeper County being now at this time in perfect halth & soundness of mind and memory as followeth Viz.
      Imprimis I recommend my soul to God Allmighty ..
      Item I deliver up my body to the Earth whence it came.
      Item after all my Just debts & funerall charges are paid I desire the remainder of my Estate to be disposed of as followeth Viz.
      I desire my beloved Wife MARY & my Son in Law BENJAMIN be & take upon them to be Executrix & Exr. of this my last Will and Testament.
      Item I leave my beloved Wife Mary my whole Estate during her life (only as is heretofore reserved) but if she should intermarry with any other person that then my estate shall be taken out of her hands reserving her thirds & the other two parts to be given to my Daughter MARY LONG
      Item I desire the Plantation whereon I now live to be my dearly beloved wife Mary during her life & afterwards to my daughter Mary
      Item I give to my grandson JOHN BOND LONG sone of BLOOMFIELD LONG and ELIZABETH his Wife my bed and furniture whereon I now lie but not to be delivered till the said John Bond Long comes of age.
      Item I give and bequeath to my grandson BLOOMFIELD LONG sone of BENJAMIN LONG & Mary his Wife my rifle gun but not till the said Bloomfield Long comes of age.
      Item after the death of my beloved wife Mary Bond my desire is that my whole Personal Estate & all the goods & chattels that she is then possessed of shall be given to my beloved daughter Mary Long & her heirs .. Witness this 17th day of Aprile 1756

      This last Will and Testament of John Bond decd was exhibited to the Court by Mary Bond Widow of
      the said decedent and Benjamin Long the Executors therein named and was proved by the deposition of George Hume one of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on their motion Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probat thereof they having sworn to the same and given bond & security according to Law.

      This Indenture made the second day of March one thousand seven hundred & thirty Between JN. BOND of Spotsylvania County of ye one part and GEORGE WHETLEY of ye same County of ye other part. Witnesseth that ye said JN. Bond for & in consideration of the sum of three thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco & cask to him in hand paid before ye sealing & delivery hereof ye said JN. BOND doth hereby acknowledge & thereof doth acquit & discharge him the said GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs & assigns by these presents hath given granted bargained & sold aliened released conveyed & confirmed & by these presents doth fully clearly & absolutely give grant bargain & sell alien release convey & confirm unto ye sd GEORGE WHETLEY of ye land & premises heare after mentioned by virtue of one Indenture of bargain & sale to him heareof made for one whole year by Indenture baring date ye day next before the day of ye date of these presents & of the Statute for Transferring uses into possession & to his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and tenn lying & being in ye fork of Rappahanock River in Spotsylvania County Beginning at a read white oak corner to Conll ALEXANDER SPOTSWOOD thence north thirty six degrees east one hundred poles to two whole white oakes & two pines thence south fifty five degrees east two hundred thirty two poles to GEORGE WHETLEY line & along his line to four white oakes corner to WHETLEY & STANTON thence with STANTONS line south twenty five degrees east one hundred ninety fOur poles to white & read oaks in Conll. SPOTSWOODS line thence with his line north fifty foure degrees west four hundred poles to ye beginning together with all wayes waters water courses woods profits commodities heriditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to ye said hereby granted released & conveyed promises belonging or aney wayes appertaining & ye reversion & reversions remainder or remainders rents S. services thereof & all ye Estate right title dame Sr demand of him ye said JOHN BOND his heirs & assigns of in & to ye same & all Deeds writings pattents & evidences whatsoever touching or conserning ye sd premises or any part of them to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land & premises deeds writings & evidences hereby granted released & conveyed & every part & parcel thereof with the appurtenances & ye reversion remainder & services thereof unto ye said GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs and assigns forever to ye Sole & propper use & behoof of the sd GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs & assigns forever & ye sd JN. BOND at the time of sealing & delivery of these presents is & stands lawfully rightfully & absolutely seized of & in ye land & premises with ye appurtenances of a good sure perfect absolute & indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in fee simple without any condition provise or limitation to other changed charge or delivering ye same & that he the sd JN. BOND his heirs Exors. & Admrs. of & from all & former & other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales Leases releases & uses & of & form all other Titles Troubles & Incumbrances whatsoever ye Quitrents only excepted further ye sd JN. BOND for himself his heirs Exors. Admrs. doth covenant promise & grant to & with ye sd GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs & assigns by these presents that he ye sd JOHN BOND his heirs & assigns & all & every other person or persons whatsoever having or claiming or which at aney time or times hereafter shall or may lawfully have or claim aney Estate Right title or interest into or out of ye premises or any part or parcel of them by from or under ye sd JOHN BOND his heirs or assigns shall & will from time to time and at all times hereafter at or upon ye reasonably request & at ye propper costs Sr charges in ye Law of ye said GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs or assigns make doe perform acknowledge levied and executed all & every such further & other lawful! and reasonable Act & Acts Thing & things device & devices conveyance & assurance in the law whatsoever for ye further better & more perfect assuring sure making & conveying of all and singular ye before hereby granted released & conveyed promises with their appurtenances unto ye sd GEORGE WHETLEY his heirs & assigns as by their Council Learned in ye Law shall be reasonably devised advised tendered & required.       TO ALL WHOM it may concern or these presents Come, Know Ye that I REUBEN LONG, Son of BROMFIELD LONG and ELIZABETH LONG, who was ELIZABETH BOND Daughter of JOHN and MARY BOND, all of Culpeper County which said REUBEN LONG is of the one part and ROBERT GAINS of ORANGE COUNTY of the other part Witnesseth that REUBEN LONG being seized in Certain slaves now in possession of his Grandmother, MARY BOND, by Virtue of a Deed of Gift made by said JOHN BOND bearing date the day of 177 duely recorded in the County aforesaid Wherein after the death of said MARY he devises certain negroes to his two Daughters, ELIZABETH and MARY, (the said slaves) with their Increase and to their Children equally share and share alike the said REUBEN, party to these presents, being the Eldest Son of said ELIZABETH by the said BRUMFIELD LONG, being so hereof seized in Reversion and being desirous to sell and dispose of the same for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred pounds good and lawful! money of the State of Virginia to him in hand paid by ROBERT GAINS hath bargained and sold all that one fourth undevided share of the Slave or Slaves aforesaid and also all such shares as the said REUBEN LONG may hereafter be Intitled to by heir ship or other Right In Witness whereof I the said REUBEN LONG hath hereunto set my hand and Seal as my act and deed this 28th day of September 1779

      TO ALL AND TO WHOM it may concern or these presents come Know all men by these presents that we RICHARD CHISM [Chissam] and ANN CHISM hid Wife (Son in Law and Daughter to BRUMFILL and ELIZABETH LONG, who was ELIZABETH BOND, Daughter to JOHN and MARY BOND, all of County of Culpeper), hath bargained and sold unto BRUMFILL LONG all their Right Title and Interest in an Estate of Slaves now in possession of their Grand Mother, MARY BOND, which by virtue of a Deed of Gift bearing date (blank) made by said JOHN BOND duly proved in the County Court aforesaid after the death of said MARY BOND, he devides certain Negroes to his two Daughters, ELIZABETH and MARY, the said Slaves with their increase to them and their Children to be equally Shared, the said ANN CHISM party to these presents being Daughter to said ELIZABETH by the said BRUMFILL LONG, the said RICHARD CHISM and ANN CHISM his Wife have a Share in said Slaves and being desirous to sell and dispose of the same for and in consideration of the sum of Nine hundred pounds Virginia Currency to them paid by BRUMFILL LONG Now these presents witnesseth that for the consideration aforesaid RICHARD CHISM and ANN his Wife doth hereby acknowledge to have bargained and sold unto BRUMFELL LONG one fourth undivided share of the slaves that MARY BOND (Relict of JOHN BOND) hath possession hereof that BROMFELL LONG is and shall to all intents and purposes be invested to all the Right Title or demand that RICHARD CHISM & ANN his Wife has now of in or to the said slaves and if RICHARD CHISM and ANN his Wife shall refuse to make good and Lawful right, they shall forfeit the sum of Ten thousand pounds Virginia Currency In Witness whereof the said RICHARD CHISM and ANN his Wife hath hereunto set their hands & Seals this 19th day of June 1780
