Indenture made 4th/5th October 1745 between JOHN GLENDENNING of Brunswick Parish King George County Planter & ANN CHAMPE Eldest Daughter of JOHN CHAMPE of same .. Whereas ANN GLENDENNING of Hanover Parish King George County Widdow by her deed of Feeofment dated 3rd February 1724/5 between Ann of one part and said John Glendenning .. by the Name of John Glendenning the only Son of the said Ann .. reciting that Ann had confirmed unto JOSEPH ARMSTRONG & ELIZABETH his wife 100 acres, unto JOHN ARMSTRONG & ELLEN his wife 100 acres, unto WILLIAM GRANT & MARGARET his wife 100 acres and unto DAVID SEALE and JAEL his wife other 100 acres which several parcels each had been laid off ..did grant unto John Glendenning & PHEBE his Wife 250 acres on Muddy Creek in Parish Hanover (now Brunswick) in King George County being the residue of 650 acres remaining after laying out the 400 acres before mentioned .. part of tract granted unto JOHN MOTT & GEORGE MOTT by Pattent 17th October 1670 afterwards given by George Mott Father of the said Ann to his four daughters ELIZABETH, MARGARET, the said ANN & ELLEN by his last will & testament dated last day March 1674 duly proved in Rappahannock Court 27th May 1674 among whom the same was afterwards divided .. upon such 650 acres was allotted to Ann Glendenning & her Heirs .. the said 250 acres residue of the 650 acres containing the Plantation where Ann Glendenning, John Glendenning, SIMON WHITE & RICHARD PEARL then lived (reserving unto the said Ann the Plantation where she then lived and the rents of the 250 acres during her natural life) and whereas the said Ann and Phebe the Wife of John are since dead and said John is now seized of the 250 acres .. doth grant all that Plantation where ANN GLENDENNING formerly lived & so much of the land adjoining as makes of 120 acres bounded according to a Survey thereof made by JOSEPH BERRY Gent. as follows .. Beginning .. bank of Rappahannock River being a corner between JOHN GLENDENNING and SIMON WHITE .. up the River .. Mouth of Muddy Creek .. Mouth of small branch ..
