      Know all men that we JAMES BANKS and JOHN EDMONDSON are held and firmly bound unto THOS. WARING, SAML. HIPKINS, JOHN CLEMENTS & JAMES JONES Gent Justices of the peace for the County of Essex their heirs and Successors in the sum of one hundred pounds sterling to the which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Exors. Sr Admrs. jointly and severally firmly by these presents, witness our hands and seals this 19th day of February Anno Dom 1750.
      The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bound JAMES BANKS Guardian of MARY CONNER his heirs Exors. & Admrs. do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto ye said orphans all such Estate or Estates as now are or hereafter shall come to the hands of the said JAMES as soon as she shall attain to lawfull age or when thereto required by the said Justices of the peace for the County of Essex as also to save and keep harmless the said Justices their heirs and Successors from all trouble and damage, that shall or may arise about the said Estate. Then this Obligation to be void & of none effect remain in full force power and virtue.
      At a Court held for Essex County at Tappa. on the 19th day of February Anno Dom 1750. JAMES BANKS and JOHN EDMONDSON acknowledged this bond to be their Act and Deed wch is ordered to be recorded and is truly recorded. Test JOHN LEE, C.E. Cur.

      THIS INDENTURE QUADRIPARTITE made the first day of June 1772 Between TUNSTALL BANKS of County of KING & QUEEN, JAMES BANKS of County of ESSEX and GEORGE BANKS Marinor of the one part and MICHAEL WOOTS [UTZ} of County of Culpeper Witnesseth that said Tunstall Banks, James Banks & George Banks for sum of One hundred and thirty pounds have sold unto the said Michael Woots all that tract of land which was taken up by WILLIAM BANKS for RALPH BANKS his Father being in the County of Culpeper and adjoining the lands of JOSEPH TOWLES containing according to the old Established bounds Four hundred acres of land . . .

      This Indenture proved by Oaths of two of the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be certified And at a Court held for the said County April the 19th 1773 was fully proved by the other witness and ordered to be recorded.

      George the third to RICHARD TUNSTALL and JAMES DICKIE, CHARLES MORTIMER and JOHN CORRIE of County of KING and QUEEN Gentlemen Greeting Whereas Tunstall Banks and Sarah his Wife & James Banks and Frances his Wife have sold unto MICHAL UTZ land in County of Culpeper and Whereas the said Sarah and Frances cannot travel to our Court of Culpeper to make acknowledgement of the said conveyance we do give you power to go personally to the said Sarah and Frances and receive their acknowledgement of the same and when you have received their acknowledgement that you Certifie us thereof in our Court. Witness JOHN JAMESON Clerk of our said Court at the Ct: House the Tenth day of October in the Twelfth year of our Reign. Pursuant to the Commission we Richard Tunstall and James Dickie did go to the said Sarah Banks Wife of said Tunstall Banks took her acknowledgement. Certified under our hands this Sixteenth day of October 1772.
