      THIS INDENTURE between JOHN FRAZER and BETTY FRAZER his Wife of the County of Spotsylvania and Town of Fredericksburg of the one aprt and JOHN LEGG of the same Town and County of the other part Witnesseth that JOHN FRAZER and BETTY his Wife for the sum of Sixty five pounds current money hath granted unto the said JOHN LEGG and his heirs and assigns forever a Lott of Ground in the Town of Fredericksburg containing half an acre numbered 127 beginning in CHARLES STREET adjoining Lot 125 running thence to the Corner, North 241/2 degrees West to WILLIAM STEET, thence South 65 112 degrees West to Lott No. 128, thence South 24 112 degrees East to the corner adjoining Lotts No. 128, 126 & 125; thence North 65 112 degrees East to the beginning; being the Ground purchased by the said JOHN FRAZER of ROBT. & ANN CUNNINGHAM as by Deed recorded in the Court Hustings of Fredericksburg may appear, To have and to hold to the said JOHN LEGG and his heirs and assigns
      peaceably against the claim of the said JOHN FRAZER and BETTY his Wife or any other person whatsoever unto the said JOHN LEGG and his heirs and will warrant and forever defend by these presents; In Witness whereof the said JOHN FRAZER & BETTY FRAZER his Wife hereunto set their hands and seals this Ninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four

Justices of the Corporation of Fredericksburg greeting; Whereas JOHN FRAZER and BETTY his Wife have conveyed unto JOHN LEGG one Lott of Ground in the said Town and whereas the said BETTY cannot travel to our Court Hustings to make her personal acknowledgement, these are to require you to go to the said BrnY and examine her apart from her said Husband whether she doth freely acknowledge the said Indenture and such acknowledgement send certified with this Commission; Witness HENRY ARMISTEAD Clerk of our said Court this 29 day of January 1785 in the Ninth year of the Common Wealth HENRY ARMISTEAD, Clerk Corporation of Fredericksburg to wit: Pursuant to the within Commission we did this day examine Mrs. BETTY FRAZER and she did acknowledge the said Indenture and declared she did the same without the threats of her said Husband; Certified under our hands & seals this seventh dy of March 1785

      At a Hustings Court held for the Corporation of Fredericksburg on Monday the third day of January one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five This Deed from JOHN FRAZER & BETTY his Wife (with a Commission of her privy examination) was proved by the oaths of THOMAS RYAN & CHARLES TURNER at February Court 1785 and was further proved by the oath of JAS: DICKINSON & is ordred to be recorded Test HENRY ARMISTEAD, Clerk
