Planters doe authorize Constitute & appoynt or: velbeloved friends Mr. JOHN & Mr. GEORGE MOTT or either of them either joyntly or severally both together or one of them to be our true & lawfull Aurny or Attrnys for us & in or: names & steedes to sue and Impleade any pson or psons as shall any way or by any meaner goe about to make voyde the Last Will & Testament of THOMAS FARRELL late of the forenamed Pish & County deced & bearing date the ninth day of January 1669 Likewise for us & in or: names stead & places to make a Probate of the same in the Court of the said County giveing and graunting to or: Attrny or Attrnyes what power Strenth and authority in & about the pmises for us and in or: names to doe Execute & pforme as fully & largely in Every respect to all intents and purposes as if we or:selves might or could doe if wee were there in our owne pson present Ratifieing & allowing holding firme and stable all & whatsoever or: sd Attrny or Attrnyes shall lawfully doe or cause to be done in & abt, the praises by vertue of these pnts.       BE IT KNOWNE unto all men that for the valuable consideration of Thousand pounds of good tobacco and cask paid to me JOHN DALTON of the Parish of Sittingbourne in the County of Rappa. in Virga. by RICHARD PERKINSON of the same Parish and County the receipt whereof I doe hereby acknowledge to be fully satisfied and paid upon wch I the said JOHN DALTON doe for myselfe my heirs give and sell unto the said RICHD. PERKINSON one half of a divident of land containing three hundred acres given unto me by the Last Will &Testament of THOMAS FARRELL deceased and being on the South side of RAPPA. RIVER in the Freshes thereof the one halfe of the said land for all time to come soley and properly to belong to the said RICHARD PERKINSON and his heirs forever wth one halfe of the housen and clear ground and fencing and all other privilidges thereunto granted to as by Pattent doth more at large appear the said halfe of the sd land being divided from what remains more or less by these markes and bounds following (Vitt) beginning at a Cedar standing by the River side and runing into the woods South West by a line of marked trees thence So. E to PUEMONSUM CREEKE thence down along the several courses of the said Creeke to a marked Wallnut tree thence No, W. to the place where it began the other part being the residue of the said halfe beginning at a Red Oake upon the head of CEDAR CREEKE thence So. W. to the place it began the sd land wthin the bounds above- said I doe firmly give and grant unto RICHARD PERKINSON and his heirs forever with warranty from the claime of any persons hereafter to calim under me or my heirs forever and in confirmation of the same I have set my hand and seale this 10th of November 1673

Now know you &c that I Sr. WILLIAM BERKELEY Knt Governor &c doe with the advice and consent of the Council of State give and grant unto Mr. ALEXANDER FLEMING three hundred acres of land lying on the South side of RAPPA RIVER in the upper side of the bend opposite to a point betweene NANZEMOND and NANCETEQUOND TOWNE bounding and adjoying upon the land Northwest wth CEDAR CREEK wch devides this Land and the Land of JOHN GILLETT No. E. upon the River upon the So E wth another Creeke & S. W. into the woods the said land being formerly granted unto CLEMENT HERBERT by Pattent bearing date the 21st of April 1659 & by him relinquished and upon Petition of the sd Mr. ALEXANDER FLEMING to the Governor & Council it was given and granted unto the said Mr. ALEXANDER FLEMING by an order from the Governor and the Council bearing date the 28th of March 1664 To have and to hold &c. Yeilding and paying &c. Provided &c. Given at JAMES CITY under my hand and the Seale of the Collony this 6th of April 1664

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents to whom it shall concern that I JOHN DALTON of the County of Rappa, for a considerable sume of tobacco already agreed upon have made and sold unto JOHN GODFREY Planter of the same County One hundred and fifty acres of land which is part of three hundred acres of land wch was formerly assigned over unto THOMAS FARRELL his heirs Executrs. or assigns forever from JOHN SPEED his heirs & assigns forever lying upon the South side of RAPPA RIVER and in the upper side of the CODD of the Bay opposite to a poynt between NANSEMOND & NANSTIGWON known bounding and adjoyning upon the No. W. with a CODD of the Creeke which divides the land of the land of JOHN GILLETT No, Ea. upon the River upon the So. Ea. with another Creeke & SW into the woods the said land being formerly granted unto CLEMENT HERBERT by Pattent bearing date the 21st of April! 1657 and by him relinquished & upon Petition of Mr. ALEXANDER FLEMING to the Governor and Council! it was given and granted unto the sd Mr. ALEXANDER FLEMING by and Order of Court from the Governor and Council! and the said JOHN DALTON doth warrant the same land from all persons wtsoever that my lay any claime to the same unto the said JOHN GODFREY his heirs and assigns from me the said JOHN DALTON my heirs or assigns forever and in confirmation of the same I have sett my hand & seale this 8th day of April! in the present year of our Lord God Anno Dom 1674

      TO ALL TO WHOM these prsents shall come, I THOMAS LORD CULPEPER, Baron of Thorsway, his Majties. Lieut, and Govnr: General of Virginia send Greeting in our Lord God everlasting. Whereas his Majtie. hath been gratiously pleased by his Royal Letters Patents under the Great Seale of England bearing date at Westminster the Tenth day of October in the Eight and Twentieth yeare of his. Reigne amongst other things in the sd Letters Pattent contayned to continue the antient lidge of granting Fifty acres of land for every person imported into this Collony of Virgo.: NOW KNOW yee that I the said THOMAS LORD CULPEPER &c. Governer &c, doe with the consent of the Coun cell of State accordingly give CORNELIUS REYNOLDS Three hundred acres of land according to the antient and lawful' bounds thereof being in the Freshes of Rappa: on the South side of the River in the County aforesaid the said land being formerly granted unto JOHN GODFREY deced and lately found escheat to his Majtie, as by an Inquisition recorded in Mr, Secretarys office under the hands and seales of Coll, ISAAC ALLERTON Escheatr: Generall of said Collony and a Jury sworn before him may appeare dated the Fourteenth day of Decembr: One thousand Six hundred and Eighty one the moyety whereof was sold and assigned him the said JOHN GODFREY the Sixth of May 1674 by RICHARD PERKINSON the assigne of JOHN DOLTON who possessed the said land by the last Will and Testament of THOMAS FARRELL deced; the other moyety being sold to said JOHN GODFREY by the said JOHN DOLTON the legatee of said THOMAS FARRELL assignee of JOHN SPEED the eighth of Aprill 1674 as by the several! Deeds upon record may appeare and since granted to the said CORNELIUS REYNOLDS who lately made his composition according to Act; To have and to hold the said land with his due share of all mines and mineralls with all right and privilidges in as larg manner as hath been allowed since the first plantation, To be held of or: Soveraigne Lord the King &c. yeilding and paying &c.
