Indenture made August 26, 1758; Benjamin Notley Mitchell, planter and Tabitha Mitchell his wife, planters in consideration of 1 pound 17 shillings and 10 shillings current money as also two parcels of land called “Widows Trouble” conveyed to me by James Brooke in behalf of Thomas Hagan as satisfaction for land due from said Brooke and for divers other good causes and considerations us thereunto moving have sold unto Thomas Hagan part of a tract of “Widows Trouble” beginning at the north line of said tract laid out by Thomas Blanford for his daughter Tabitha Mitchell containing 57 acres. Signed Benjamin Notley Mitchell, Tabitha Mitchell in the presence of and acknowledged before George Gantt, Thomas Contee and at the same time Tabitha Mitchell w/o Benjamin Notley Mitchell relinquished her right of dower

Indenture made October 17, 1786; between Richard Mitchell of one part and George Naylor & Nicholas Blacklock of the other part. Whereas Benjamin Notley Mitchell by his last will and testament did bequeath 1/3rd of the remaining part of his personal estate unto children of his son Richard Mitchell also appointed guardian to his children by the orphan court. And whereas George Naylor & Nicholas Blacklock became sureties for the Richard Mitchell unto Thomas Mudd, executor of Benjamin Notley Mitchell by bond bearing date October 17, 1786 and the said Richard Mitchell in order to prevent any damage or loss that may arise to the sureties in case of nonperformance. Now this indenture witness that Richard Mitchell in consideration of the aforesaid has made over by these presents unto George Naylor & Nicholas Blacklock part of a tract called "Widows Trouble" formerly will by Thomas Blanford to his daughter Tabitha Mitchell containing 360 acres; subject to a proviso that until default shall be made in performance of the bond it will be lawful for the said Richard Mitchell to hold and enjoy the land.
