      -This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine Between CHARLES TALIAFERRO of St. Maries parish and Caroline County of the one part and FRANCIS CONWAY of the same parish and County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings sterling money to him in hand paid by the said FRANCIS CONWAY before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said FRANCIS CONWAY his Executors Administrators and assigns all that tract or parcel of land containing three hundred forty five acres lying and being in St. George Parish in Spotsylvania County the said seat or tract of land granted to the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO by pattent dated the twenty eighth day of September one thousand seven hundred twenty eight and bounded as followeth [Vizt.} Beginning at two corner white oakes of Capt. LAWRENCE TALIAFERRO and JOHN TALIAFERRO on the lessor side the Mountain Run thence south thirty degrees east seventy four poles to a small corner red oak of Coll. JOHN CATLETT's on the south west side of the Long Branch one hill thence south sixty degrees east ninety poles to two white oaks on a Ridge in paysoued fields thence hath east sixty eight poles to a stake standing in paysoued field thence north sixty degrees east three hundred and twenty poles to two white oaks in paysoued field thence north thirty five degrees west one hundred and two poles to a white oak and red oak by a branch in Mr. THOMAS TYLOR's line thence south sixty five degrees west fifty poles to a white and red oak TYLOR's corner thence north twenty six poles to a corner white oak and hiccory of Capt. LAWRENCE TALIAFERRO and JOHN TALIAFERO thence south sixty degrees west three hundred and eighty poles to the Beginning and all ways waters water courses timber trees and trees likely to become timber woods underwoods profits commodities advantages emoluments heriditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said hereby granted premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions remainder and remainders rents and services thereof and of every part and parcell thereof and all the Estate right Title Interest challenge claim and demand whatsoever of him the said CHARLES TALIAFFRRO of and into the same To Have and To Hold the said seat or tract of land and premises hereby granted bargained and sold with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said FRANCIS CONWAY his Exrs. Admistrs_ and assigns from the day of the date hereof for and during the form of one whole year from thence next ensuing mid fully to be compleat and ended yielding and paying thereof the rent of one pepper corn at the feast of St. Michael the Archangel if the same be divided which said grant bargain and sale is to be made as aforesaid to the intent and purpose that by virtue of these presents and by the force of the Statute for Transferring uses into possessions the said FRANCIS CONWAY may be in the actual possession of the tract of land and premises and may be also thereby enabled to take a granted release and confirmation of the said reversion and Inhoritance thereof from the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO to him and his heirs to the use of him the said FRANCIS CONWAY his heirs and assigns for ever.       -This Indenture made the second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine Between CHARLES TALIAFERRO of the County of Caroline in Virginia, Gentleman of the one part and HENRY WILLIS of the County of Spotsylvania, Gentleman of the other part. Witnesseth that the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said HENRY WILLIS at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth acknowledge and himself therewith fully contented and paid and thereof and of every part and parcel! thereof doth clearly and absolutely acquit exonerate and discharge the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs Executors Admrs. and every of them forever by these presents he the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO hath granted bargained and sold aliened released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain, sell alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said HENRY WILLIS [in his actual possession now being] one certain parcell of land containing one hundred and fifty acres situate lying and being on the South side of Rappahanock River in the parish of St. George and County of Spotsylvania and bounded as followeth Vizt. Beginning at a white oak corner tree of the land formerly JN. BOWSEY's now JONATHAN GIBSON's and running with the said BOWSEY's line south by west three degrees fifteen westerly two hundred and fifty sold, unto the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns forever against him the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrent and forever defend by these presents and the said CHARLES for himself his heirs Executors, Admrs. doth covenant, promise and grant to and with the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO at the time of the ensealing and delivery of these presents is and standeth lawfully Rightfully and absolutely seized of and in the said parcell of land and premises with the appurtenances of a good sure perfect and absolute and lndefeazable Estate of Inheritance now hath full power good right and lawfull authority to grant release and convey the said parcell of land with the appurtenances unto the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns in manner and form aforesaid and also the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns shall and may by force and virtue of these presents from time to time and at all times for ever hereafter lawfully, peaceably and quietly enter into, have, hold, use, occupy, possess and enjoy the said parcel! of land and premises hereby granted, released and conveyed with their and every of their appurtenances and have receive and take the rents and profits thereof to his and their own proper use and behoof for ever without any lawful! or equitable Lot Suite Trouble, Interruption or Ejection of the said CHARLES his heirs Exrs. or Admrs. or of any other person or persons whatsoever and that it is free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharges or other ways from time to time and at all times forever hereafter well and sufficiently saved and keept harmless and lndemnifyed by the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO his heirs Exrs. Admrs. of and from all former and other gifts grants bargains, sales morgages and of and from all and singular other titles Troubles Charges and incumberances whatsoever Had, Made, Committed, Omitted, Suffered or Done or to be had made committed, omitted, suffered or done by the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns or by any other person or persons whatsoever by him or them or their of their acts means, consents, title Interest or procurement [the rents and services which from henceforth from time to time for and in respect of the promises shall grow due and ought to be performed to our Sovereign Lord the King his heirs and Successors only Excepted and foreprized] and further the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO for himself his heirs Exrs. and Admrs. doth covenant, promise and grant to and with the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO his heirs and assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever having or claiming or which at any time or times hereafter shall or may lawfully have or claim any Estate Right Title or Interest into or out of the premises or any part or parcell of them by from or under the said CHARLES his heirs or assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter at or upon the reasonable request and at the proper costs and charges in the law of the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs or assigns make, do perform levy acknowledge, execute and suffer to be made, done, performed, acknowledged, levied, executed and suffered, and all and every such further and more perfect assuring sure making ana conveying of all and singular the before hereby granted land and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said HENRY WILLIS his heirs and assigns, be it by fine recovery Feofftment Release or confirmation or by all and every their Council Learned in the Law shall be reasonably advised, devised, Tendred and Required. Witnesseth that the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings sterling to him in hand paid by the said WILLIAM MARSHALL before the ensealing and delivery of these presents hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said WILLIAM MARSHALL his Executors Administrators ad assigns all that tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty acres lying and being in the parish of St. George and County of Spotsylvania [being a part of the said CHARLES TALIAFERRO's Motts Run tract of land] Beginning at a white oak in line of JOHN BOWSEE's patent [now the land of JONATHAN GIBSON, Jun. and corner to Colo. HENRY WILLIS] thence south by west three degrees fifteen minutes west two hundred and fifty pole to two white oaks and a hiccory corner to the said BOWSEE, thence west by north three degrees fifteen minutes north ninety six poles to a white oak, thence north by east three degrees fifteen minutes east two hundred and fifty poles to a white oak and a red oak on a branch side another corner of the said WILLIS thence with the line of the said WILLIS east by south three degrees fifteen minutes south ninety six poles to the Beginning, and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders of the same and of every part and parcell thereof To Have and To Hold the said seat or tract of land and premises with all appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM MARSHALL his Executors Administrators and assigns forever the day before the date of these presents for and during the full term and time of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be compleated and ended yielding and paying therefore the rent of one Ear of Indian corn at the feast of St. Michael the Arch Angell only if the same be lawfully demanded to the end intent and purpose that by virtue of these presents and of the Statute for Transferring uses into possessions the said WILLIAM MARSHALL may be in the actuall possession of the said premises and be enabled to accept a grant and release of the Reversion and Inheritance of the same to him and his heirs forever.
