      THIS INDENTURE made the eleaventh day of Aprill 1683 in the 35th yeare of the Reigne of or: Soveraigne Lord King Charles the second &c, Between JOHN WILLARD and ELIZABETH his Wife of County of Rappahannock in Virginia of the one part and ROSAMOND JACOB of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said JOHN WILLARD and ELIZABETH his Wife for sume of fower thousand pounds of good sound merchantable Tob: and casque to them have sold unto the said ROSAMOND JACOB his heires all that parcell of land containing Two hundred acres and bounding on the lands of WILL: BATES, ROBERT REDDERFORD, JOHN GOUGE and JOHN BUTCHER which is part of fower hundred fifty six acres granted and sold unto the said JOHN WILLARD by WILLIAM BATES by writing under his hand bearing date the 21th day of Novembr: 1674 all which prmises situate in Sittingburn Parish on the South side of Rappa. County all the right whatsoever of said JOHN WILLARD and ELIZABETH his Wife To have and to hold all the said parcell of land hereby warranted unto the said ROSAMOND JACOB his heirs &c. from the day before the date of these presents untill the full term of ninety nine years from henceforth next ensuing & full to be compleate and paying therefore yearely unto said JOHN WILLARD his heires or assignes one eare of Indian Corne upon the five and twentieth day of Decembr: if demanded and also paying the rents and fines due for the same to or: Soveraigne Lord the King In Witness whereof the parties have sett their hands and seales

      I ROSAMOND JACOB do by these prsents give and make over unto DAVID CATLET, Son of NICHOLAS CATLET, one yearling heifer named Nancy of a brindled colour marked with a crop a slits and underkeele in right eare & crop in the left eare To him the said DAVID CATLET his heires forever the male increase to run and be for them that keep and look after the said heifer till he attaines the age of sixteen yeares and after both male and female to be for the use of him the said DAVID and his heires forever the said heifer I doe warrant from the claime of any maner of persons wtsoever as Witness my hand this 13th day of October 1683

      - Rappahannock County Court 7th of November 1688
      - JOHN WATERS brought his action in this Court against RICHARD WILTON as Marrying the Executrx, of ROSOMUND JACOB and declares that the sd JACOB at the time of his decease stood justly indebted to him the sum of Six pounds Ten shillings in mony upon Account bearing date the 8th: day of 9ber 1685 and proved by the Oath of the Plt., in this Court. The Deft. sayes that by the 4th Act of Assembly held at JAMES CITY the 25th day of April! Ano 1679 no accounts are pleadable against the Estate of a deceased person except proved by the Oath of one witness more besides the Creditor, But it appearing to this Court that the sd Debt was contracted within one year before the death of the sd JACOB, the Court granted Judgmt. to the sd JOHN WATERS against the Estate of the sd ROSOMUND JACOB for Six pounds ten shillings in mony to be pd. wth: cost of suit als exe., from which Judgment the Deft. appealed for a rehearing of the matter to the Honble Councell on the 4th day of the next Genll. Court
