BROOKE & JAMES BOUGHAN of the County of Essex in Virga: are firmely bound unto the Worpll her Maities Justices of the Peace for the said County in the sume of Two hundred pounds Sterl. money to the payment of which we bind ourselves the 11th day of March l702
      The Condicon of this obligacon is that if PHEBE BOOTH. Admex, of all & singular the goods chattles & creditts of HUMPHRY BOOTH deced doe make a true Inventory of all & singular ye goods & creditts which shall come to hands of her and ye same so made do exhibit to ye next Court yt. shal he held for ye abovesd.       THIS INDENTURE made the 19th day of June Ano Dom 1689 Between HUMPHREY BOOTH of Rappa County, Planter, Son and heir apparent of HUMPHREY BOOTH, late of sd County, Gent. deced; ROBT. BROOKES of sd County, Planter, and CATHARINE his Wife, Daughter also of the sd HUMPHREY BOOTH deced and heir entaile in Posin (blot) to the sd HUMPHREY, the Son of the one part and RICHARD STOKES of the said County, Planter, of the other part Witnesseth that said HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKES and CATHERINE his Wife for sum of Two thousand one hundred and three pounds of Tobb: to them or one of them in hand at and before sealing and delivering hereof by sd RICHARD STOKES truly paid by these presents have and each and every of them bath bargained sold and confirmed unto RICHARD STOKES his heirs all that parcell of land containing Fifty nine acres and one quarter of an acre scituate and being in Parish of Cittenburne on the South side RAPPA RIVER in County aforesd lying runing and extending in manner following Beginning at a certaine Stake sett in the NEW FENCE Pasture of sd RICHD. STOKES and adjoining to the land of the edge of a Pocoson, thence S. West to a small red Oake saplin neere a Hickory, thence West to the first mentioned Stake and all woods underwoods timbers trees standing or being on the sd parcell of land and all houses edifices and buildings thereupon standing erected or built all ways passages waters profitts and appurtenances whatsoever to the premises belonging and all the right they the sd HUMPHREY, ROBERT and CATHERINE or any of them now have To have and to hold the sd Fifty acres and one quarter of an acre of land and all the premises unto sd RICHARD STOKES his heirs to his own proper use and for none other and said RICHARD STOKES from henceforth forever peaceably and quietly have and enjoy the before menconed premises without the lawful! suit denial or interruption of any persons whatsoever and that they the sd HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKE and CATHERINE his Wife shall and will within six months next ensuing in due form of Law acknowledge these presents before his Majties Justices of Peace for Rappa County and that they do suffer and execute such further and other lawful! and reasonable acts for the further conveying and assuring of the before bargained premises unto RICHARD STOKES his heirs as he sd RICHARD STOKES or their Councell learned in the law shall reasonably desire In Witness the sd parties to these Indentures have sett their hands and seales

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I HUMPHREY BOOTH of County of Rappa. in Virginia, Planter, for divers good causes me thereunto moving more especially for Six pounds Ten Shillings, Four breeding soaves, two shoats and three barrels of Indian Corne in hand paid and secured have by these presents bargained sold and confirmed unto GARRAT EVANS of the aforesaid County in Virginia, Plantr., his heirs Eighty acres of land being in the County aforesd. and bounded begining with the MANE ROAD on the upper side of PRICES RUN from thence down the sd Run till it includes Eighty acres square, the sd land lying and being on the South side of the aforesd River To have and to hold the aforesd Eighty acres from me my heirs unto the aforesaid EVANS his heirs and from the dame to any part thereof and further do oblige myself my heirs to give unto the aforesd EVANS his heirs any other assurance as his or their Councell in the Law shall advise if this shall not be thought sufficient in Law and for the better assurance of this conveyance I bind myself my heirs unto said EVANS his heirs in the full and just sum of Twenty thousand pounds of legal Tobb: payable upon all demands in case the sd EVANS be disturbed or molested in the quiet and peaceable possession of the aforesd land.       THIS INDENTURE made this 5th day of 8br in year of our Lord 1689 Between HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKE and KATHERINE INE BROOKE of the County of Rappa: of the one partie and THO: DAVIS of said County of the other partie witnesseth that sd HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBERT BROOKE and KATHERINE BROOKE h for a valuable consideration already in hand received sold unto THOMAS DAVIS and his heirs one parcell of land conteyning One hundred acres being on South side of Rappa: River being part of a greater tract of land the sd One hundred acres to be bounded Beginning at the Run comonly called by name of PRICES RUN where the Mane Road goeth over and from thence extending itself up the sd Run or Branch as far as sd HUMPHREY BOOTH goeth up that course and from thence for its breadth along the sd BOOTH line which runeth W. and by E. and from thence directly down to the said Mane Road to sd PRICES RUN where it first began, Together with all profits and appertenances whatsoever belonging and all right that sd HUMPHREY BOOTH, ROBT. Between Mr. HUMPHREY BOOTH and PHEBE his Wife of County of Rappa Virginia of one part and HENRY NEWTON of sd County of other part Witnesseth ye sd HUMPHREY BOOTH and PHEBE his Wife for valuable consideracon in hand already received have sold unto HENRY NEWTON his heirs all his right whatsoever he have unto a certaine parcel! of land conteyning One hundred acres of land included within the bounds hereafter mentioned (That is to say) begining upon a Gravely Run at a certain ROAD called by ye name of the CHURCH ROAD in Sittinburne Parish on ye South side ye River in ye County of Rappa. just where JERRED EVERS line crosses over the sd ROAD and so up along ye sd line till you meet with THOMAS DAVIS tree and then up along the uppermost line of sd HUMPHREY BOOTH to the land of RICHARD STOKES and down line of sd STOKES crossing ye said MAIN ROAD to his lower corner tree and from thence alonge the line of the sd lower till you meet with the sd CHURCH ROAD and so long the sd ROAD to the sd Gravelly Hill where you first began To have and to hold the land and every part there unto the sd HENRY NEWTON his heirs In Witness whereof the sd parties have sett their hands and fixed their sealer
