      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee THO: GOST of County of Rappa and MARGARETT GOST do for a valuable consideracon of Two thousand pounds of Tobb: to us in hand payd from JOHN NICHOLLS of the sd County do hereby sell unto sd NICOLLS his heirs one devident of land conteyning Two hundred and Eighty acres being in County of WESTMORELAND bounded N. W. with two tracts of land belonging to Mr. FRANCIS WRIGHT begining at a marked red Oak belonging to sd WRIGHT and extending N. W. to a black Oake then N, by W, to a white Oake standing on the West side of a small branch at the head whence N. E. down the sd branch to a white Oake by the sd branch side, then S. E. to a corner marked of 1200 acres belonging to the sd WRIGHT, finally up the sd WRIGHTs line to the first station To have and to hold the said land with all privilidges whatsoever belonging and wee the sd THOMAS and MARGARETT GOST hereby covenant that the premises are free from claim by us our heirs to him the sd NICOLLS his heirs forever Witness our hands and seals this 13th of March 1689/90

      TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom these present writings shall come I JOHN NICOLLS of Rappa County in the Colony of Virginia, Plantr., send Greeting this 15th day of April in yeare of our Lord One thousand Six hundred and ninty and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King Wm. Now Witnesseth that I sd JOHN NICHOLLS for sum of Two thousand six hundred pounds of Tobb: in hand paid by THO: HUGHES of the aforesd County and Colony, Cooper, do by these presence grant unto sd THOMAS HUGH his heirs one tract of land conteyning Two hundred and Eighty acres in the County of WESTMORELAND bounded North and West with tracts of land belonging to Mr FRAN: WRIGHT being butted and bounded begining at a marked red Oak belonging to sd WRIGHT and extending west to a black Oak N. by West to a white Oake then N. N. E. to a white Oak standing on the West side of a small branch at the head, then E. down sd branch to a white Oake by the sd branch side Southerly to a corner marked of 1200 acres of land belonging to the sd WRIGHT, finally up the sd WRIGHTs line to the first station Together with all houses gardens pastures woods and appertinances belonging unto the use and behoof of him the sd THOMAS HUGHES his heirs he the sd THO: HUGHES his heirs paying the yearly fee rent due for the same payable unto our Sovereign Lord the King In Witness I have hereunto sett my hand and affixed my seal
