      THIS INDENTURE made the first day of January in the fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God, King of Great Brittain France and Ireland. Defendr: of the faith &c ., Annoq: Domini 1718; Between THOMAS HUGHS of Parish of Sittenbourn in County of Richmond, Planter, and FRANCES his Wife, of one part and JOHN HENDERSON of same Parish & County, Taylor, of other part; Witnesseth that THOMAS HUGHS and FRANCIS his Wife for sume of Five shillings Sterling money to them in hand paid by JOHN HENDERSON by these p:sents doe bargain and sell unto JOHN HENDERSON and assignes all that parcell of land containing by estimation One hundred and Fifty acres be the same more or less scituate in Parish of Sittenbourn and bounded: Beginning at three white Oaks corner to WILLIAM GRIFFIN in FITZHUGH·s line, thence South 42 degrees West 284 poles to the line of JAMES HENDERSON, thence along the sd: HENDERSON's line North 44 deg West to a small Hickory in the line of JOAN CLARK, 130 poles. thence along the sd: CLARK's line to the line of FITZHUGH, 300 poles, thence along the line of FITZHUGH South East by South, 80 poles to the beginning the Land formerly belonging to WILLIAM SERJEANT dec:ed being part of a Patent of Fourteen hundred acres taken up by WILLIAM SERGEANT and JOAN CLARK and devised by the sd: WILLIAM SERJEANT by his last. Will in Writing unto the sd FRANCES HUGHS, by the name FRANCES STERN daughter of DAVID STERN. her heirs Together With all houses orchards comoditiest and appurtenances belonglng; To have and to hold the parcel of land unto JOHN HENDERSON and assignes during the terme of one whole year paying therefore unto THOMAS HUGHS & FRANCES his Wife their heirs the Rent of one Ear of Indian Corne at the Feast of the Nativitv of our Saviour Christ if lawfully demanded, to the end that by vertue of these p:sents and of ye Statute for transferring uses into possession sd: JOHN HENDERSON may be in the actuall possession of the premisses and thereby the better enabled to accept a release thereof; In Witness whereof the parties first above named to these p:sent Indentures have interchangeably sett their hands and seals the day and year first above written
