      Feb 17, 1742/[43] from William Prater (Prather) of PG, planter, to Thomas Webb of PG, for 6 £13 shillings and 4 pence sterling, a tract of land in PG called Prather Groves, bounded by a red oak standing near the head of Horsepen Branch of the Eastern Branch of Potomack River, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. Signed - William (WP his mark) Prather. Wit - George Scott, John Child, Tho Owen*, Jams Edmanston*. Sarah Prather, wife of the sd William Prather, acknowledged her consent to the deed. Recorded Mar 12, 1742/[43].

      Indenture made February 17, 1742; William Prather, 3rd, planter in consideration of 26 pounds sterling money of Great Britain paid by John Lockline, planter has sold tracts called "Hope" containing 37 acres and "Addition to the Hope" containing 100 acres lying on the Long Branch of the north fork of the Eastern Branch of Potomack River. Signed William Prather in the presence of Philip Jackson, John Needham and acknowledged before Thomas Owen, James Edmonston and at the same time Sarah Prather w/o William Prather relinquished her right of dower
