      To all etc. whereas etc. Now know you that I the said Richard Bennett Esq. etc. give and grant unto Thomas Salsbury eleven hundred acres of land situated-laying and being in the County of Northumberland and on the Southside of Great Wicocomoco River bounding Northerly upon the said river and Fishing Creek Easterly upon the creek which divides this land from the land of the said Salsbury now lives on and the land of Martin Cole Westerly upon the land of Geruase Dodson bought of the pattent of John Essex Southerly upon the land of John Fawsett and the main woods the said land being due unto the said Thomas Salsbury (vizt) one hundred and fifty acres part hereof being formerly granted by pattent to John Hawkins dated the 26th of September 1651 and by Abraham Byram the legate of the said Hawkins assigned to Mr. Geruase Dodson and by the said Dodson assigned to the said Salsbury and nine hundred and fifty acres the residue by and for the transportation of nineteen people into this colony whose names are in the records mentioned under this pattent to have and to hold etc.

      Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Hopkins & Thomas Beaven have and do hereby substitute and [-----] loving friend Mr. Thomas Salisbury our true and lawfull attorney for us and in our names to require Mr. John Bardon to assign over and acknowledge in court to us or our [-----] tract of land of three hundred acres formerly belonging to Martine Cole and now brought by us the said Hopkings and [-----] of the assignee of the said Bardon, and in case of refusal the said Mr. Bardon to confirm the same according law and we authorize our said attorney to use such means as [---] hath provided to force him to the same, we hereby [---] to ratify and confirm what he shall do therein according law for the confirmation whereof we have hereunto set our hands November the 3rd 1656.

      - Whereas it was ordered at a Court held for this County the 20th of April last past that MARY EARLE, an Orphan, should returne to the tuicon of WILLIAM CLEMENT & ELIZABETH his Wife, whoe is her Mother in Law, and whereas the sd. Orphan have this Court made choice & humbly praied by peticon MARTIN COLE might bee her Gaurdian; And further whereas the sd. Orphan is much greived with a Throat adjudged by a Chyrugion to bee a distemper called soli me tangerr; It is ordered that the sd. MARY EARLE bee forthwith removed to the sd. MARTIN COLE & under his Gaurdianship & that her cattell remaine in the possession of the sd. WILLIAM CLEMENT to run together with all their increase for the sd.
