    • (Thompson's Journal stated that 1680 Acres called Leith in Page Co were granted to Robert Fenley Feb. 22, 1681. Fenley information in that Journal is questionable - probably from Stout. Vol. 25. Charles County, Maryland (make slip) Ref "Sidelights in Md Hist by Herter D. Richardson, Md Archives "Colonial Maryland" by G.M. Brumbaugh M.D., Land grants recorded in Annapolis, Md June 23, 1685 150 A in Charles Co, Robert Fenley 1680 A called Leith in Prince George Co surveyed Feby 22, 1681. 500 A to James Moore who sold part to Ninian Beall & 158 A to Robert Fenley Liber 22 Folio 167

      Feb. 22, 1681. 500 acres, "Leith", surveyed for James Moore. 1681: Leith: surveyed 22 Feb. for 500 acres for James Moore on west side of Patuxent beginning at white oak, ye which said tract is as I suppose in the former rent roll the certificate of same being recorded tho not patented which was by said James Moore conveyed to William Selby and his heirs and by him devised to his sons William and Charles and patented for confirmation to them. Granted poss: Joshua Cecill for the orphans of William Selby.4 (Mt. Calvert Hundred)

      Oct 18, 1732 Will of Wm Selby II To son Samuel and hrs., 200 A. of dwelling plantation "Leith;" sd. son dying without issue to pass to sons Joseph, Thomas and John and their hrs.; and personalty.
      To son Joseph and hrs., 100 A. of "Leith", sd. son dying without issue to sons Thomas and John and their hrs.
      To son John and hrs., 200 A. of "Leith", he permitting his mother Elizabeth to enjoy same during life; sd. son dying without issue to be divided bet. sons Joseph and Thomas and their hrs., they permitting their mother to enjoy whole as heretofore.

      Indenture made January 26, 1786; George Hardey in consideration of 70 pounds specie paid by Anthony Hardey has sold part of a tract called "Refuse" containing 158 acres and beginning at a bounded white oak being a bound tree of Wade's land and bounded by the new road that leads from Piscattaway to Upper Marlborough, and the division line that divides Elizabeth Wilson's part of said land.
