Muse, William

Wife Jenny Muse-all my estate both real and personal during her life or widowhood.
Son Sanford Muse-one shilling and no more.
Son Thomas Muse-one shilling and no more.
Son Augustine Muse-one shilling and no more.
Daughter Ann Deacon-one bed and furniture that I now lie on, two cows and calves, one sow and pigs, one ewe and lamb,three pewter plates, and one middlesized dish.
Son John Muse-the rest of my estate of what nature soever,
Son-in-law William Deacon, and son John Muse, executors.
Witness: Meredith Mahanes, Martin George, and Benjamin George.

Edward Muse, Sr., Will
In the Name of God Amen, I Edward Muse, Sr. of the County of Westmoreland being at this time in perfect senses and memory do make ordain and constitute this instrument of writing as my last will and testament in manner and form as hereby to follow.
Item I lend the use of my whole estate real and personal to my loving wife Ann Muse for and during her natural life excepting two pounds specie I give to my son Edward Muse to be paid him within nine months after my decease.
I give two pounds specie to Sanford Muse son of my son William Muse to be paid him within nine months after my decease.
I give 5 pounds specie to Thomas Muse son of my son William Muse
One year schooling to be paid for Edward Muse's son Edward Muse out of my said estate.
I give my lease of land to my son George Muse.
After my wife’s decease my whole estate lent her excepting the for legacies above mentioned, I give and bequeath to my three sons William Muse, Edward Muse, and George Muse to be equally divided among them as their properties forever after my just debts are paid.
Lastly, I appoint my three sons, William Muse, Edward Muse, and George Muse to be my whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 14th day of November 1781.

At a court held for Westmoreland County the 30th day of April 1782 this will was proved according to law by the oaths of Thomas Yeatman and Richard Neale to the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of William Muse one of the executors therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with John Moxley and James Omohundro his securities entered into and acknowledged bond with conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
