      Stafford County, Va. in 1796. p. 51 ALLEN, URSULLA Will signed 12 August 1789. --- 1793 My father, James Withers, of Stafford County, bequeathed to me 2 slaves ? My late husband left these slaves by will and testament to his sons, William, James, Joseph Allen and his dau. Ann Bradford, to be given them at my decease, and doubt has a risen as to whether said husband had right to dispose of said Negroes.
      To daughter, Ann Bradford, all my wearing apparel.

      1812 Aug 5: DB 19, p 395 ELIJAH ARNOLD, Fauquier Co VA, bound to Nathan Ellis, county aforesaid, mortgage $1,600. Condition: ELIJAH ARNOLD sold to Nathan Ellis land beginning at ARNOLD's Cross Roads running down road to Thum's Run Ford above Dearing's Mill line in lease taken out by Jesse Norman and owned by ISSAC ARNOLD which he bought of Jesse Norman and known by name of Jesse's ground...opposite Andrew Barbee's. During lives of leases conveying the said place after first deducting 4 acres including house where Turner Johnson lives and the lease taken out by Jesse Norman. Nathan Ellis paid $800.
